Senior Account Manager, Banking

As a Senior Account Manager, Banking within the Professional Services Group you will be responsible for the coordination of account administration for Banking Clients, be the daily point of contact for clients and work closely with both the banking and lending side of the business.

This dynamic and collaborative team provides lending services, banking services and wealth management services to accounting firms, legal firms, and consulting firms as well as to partners within those firms.

You will produce reports and oversee transaction processing, assist Relationship Managers in business development, create client presentations and coordinate with the Client Support Services Team (CSST).

The Senior Account Manager gains exposure to many areas within Northern Trust and interacts with senior level partners on a daily basis.

The Senior Account Manager:

Acts as initial contact for complex client or partner inquiries with the expectation that their needs will be met for banking products and services. Assists with creating and implementing complex banking solutions (including treasury management) for new and existing WM clients

-Assists bankers with internal administration of accounts, business development and client presentations including due diligence at the onset of a credit opportunity which includes gathering financial statements, industry research, basic feasibility analysis and other credit information required to assess loan. Acts as liaison with National Credit Center at inception and throughout Credit underwriting process.

-Coordinates with the CSST to execute daily client transaction activity and transaction processing including fees, payments and borrowing; handles inquiry resolution; obtains appropriate documentation necessary for credit underwriting, monitoring and credit file maintenance; requests and ensures systems information is up-to-date; execution of client servicing events, communicating with clients and other internal and external partners

-Coordinates with the CSST team on deposit related transaction processing including account opening, exception clearing, overdrafts, etc.

-Monitors and assists in resolving past due loans and documentation deficiencies for both loans and deposits

-Oversees development of appropriate action plans for client servicing and coordinates with other team members across disciplines to ensure execution and follow-up

-Acts as resource for the relationship servicing team for highly complex WM relationships

-Develops clear understanding of clients' needs and communicates these needs to service partners. Obtains appropriate information from partners and clients to facilitate service changes and solutions.

-Develops and maintains working knowledge of loan agreements, financial statements and other documentation required to monitor client relationships

Qualifications

-In depth experience, or equivalent, in financial servicing/accounting fields with client servicing background required

-Knowledge of banking products and services and internal banking functions

-Working knowledge of financial statements and basic loan documents

-Analytical, problem solving and organizational skills

-Ability to function in a fast paced environment, adapt to change and meet tight daily deadlines

-Confidence with the ability and willingness to make decisions on own and take initiative
