Production Line Leader 3rd Shift at thyssenkrupp Automotive Systems of America LLC in Chattanooga, Tennessee

Job Description:

Lead production team through the assembly process to ensure our products meet quality and delivery requirements of the customer. Drive the sustainable performance of the team while maintaining a high level of respect and professionalism even in times of stress with support from the Production Supervisor.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the inclusion of any obtained organizational knowledge into the QMS
  • Meeting production KPIs: Safety, Quality, Delivery (S2QDC) and ensuring correct sequence
  • Ensuring the implementation of good practices
  • NOK or malfunction tracking and reports
  • Train and integrate new hires as well as new leads
  • Ensure that the working documents are updated appropriately i.e. shift reports and handovers
  • Analyze, account, inform, update (safety, quality, performance... indicators) dashboards in order to communicate the monitoring of production to promote and implement continuous improvement activities
  • Operate appropriately within respective areas of the Quality Program
  • Organize production line, assign staff and manage absences, leave, and training in order to meet the production schedule (takt time)
  • Ensure compliance with the objectives of production, quality, time, and analyze the results and incidents of production (NOK), manage quality incidents, provide feedback of the corrective actions or preventive steps implemented to proper departments
  • Managerial and technical support, assist operators in performing their tasks, convey his/her knowledge to train and monitor the process to ensure its proper function, lead briefings and meetings (S2QDC, ICAR)
  • Lead approaches to progress and propose ideas for improvement in the area of 6S to include safety
  • Additional responsibilities and activities may be added on a needed basis, as assigned by management

  • Supervisory Responsibilities:

    This position supervises employees operating a manufacturing line in a production environment.

  • Be familiar with the tkASA Quality Program.
  • Education and/or Experience:


    • Minimum education requirement: GED or High School Diploma (Associate Degree or higher preferred)

    • Minimum 1-year experience manufacturing

    Willing to learn technical and administrative skills:


    • MTM knowledge

    • Managing ability and skills to analyze problems.

    • Training and guiding operators.

    • Knowledge in Quality Systems such as IATF 16949, OHSAS

    Computer and Technology Skills:

    Microsoft Office Suite software and windows operating system.

    Language Skills:

German is also preferred.

    Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as arithmetic, algebra, geometry, statistics, and their applications. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions and percentages.
