This position leads the Audit Services Planning and Staff teams. Audit Planning team duties include execution of enterprise-wide risk assessment, development of audit plans, audit project portfolio management, scheduling of audits, coordination with internal and external risk stakeholders, and preparation of materials for Audit Committee. Staff team duties include audit methodology development and maintenance, audit systems management, management reporting, resource management, training, and budget/forecast management.
Directs the independent appraisal activity within the organization. Reviews accounting, financial and other operations, as assigned, by measuring and evaluating the effectiveness of accounting and managerial controls. Key Roles and Responsibilities: Designs and implements audit procedures throughout the organization. Monitors systems and solves problems. Ensures systems consistency and accuracy. Trains new staff in standard procedures. Establishes operational objectives and assignments and delegates assignments to subordinate managers. Objectives are reviewed by senior management to determine success of operation. Involved in developing, modifying and executing company policies which affect immediate operations and may also have companywide effect. Erroneous decisions will result in critical delays in schedules and or unit operations and may jeopardize overall business activities. Regularly interacts with senior management or executive levels on matters concerning several functional areas, divisions, and or customers. Requires the ability to change the thinking of, or gain acceptance of, others in sensitive situations. Manages activities of two or more sections or departments through subordinate managers who exercise full supervision in terms of costs, methods and employees.
Education: Bachelors or Advanced degree preferred; CPA, CIA, CISA, or other audit or advisory-related certification preferred.
Experience: Typically requires 10 or more years of experience and at least two years of management responsibility. Supervisory: Yes.
