We have an opportunity for a Strategic Marketing Manager to join our North Aurora, IL team. You will be responsible for developing customer-centric growth strategies for the global Commercial and Industrial pump market, while driving the development and execution of integrated marketing plans to drive those strategies into the marketplace. This role will report to the Business Unit Leader for the Commercial & Industrial Flow business while working closely with the Industrial Filtration and Flow Technologies Vice President Marketing. This role will also actively work with the business unit growth leaders and their respective teams in Product Management, Sales and Engineering.

You will:


  • Be primarily responsible for partnering with the Commercial & Industrial Flow Business Unit team to build and execute the marketing strategy for the global Commercial & Industrial pump market.

  • Lead the Commercial & Flow Technologies marketing team which includes direct and matrix reporting relationships.

  • Help drive continued growth of the core business and new channel penetration.

  • Actively seek Voice of the Customer data, and then deliver insights that drive strategic focus & category leadership.

  • Perform market analysis, including end-customer segmentation, identifying target end market opportunities, etc.

  • Deliver competitive insight and analysis within the market.

  • Identify opportunities for growth (including digital customer experience platforms and new channel expansion), and deliver marketing strategies to turn opportunities into executable growth plans.

  • Deliver customer insights to functional marketing teams to inform & develop integrated marketing plans; this will involve including input from Product Management, Sales, Content Marketing and Digital marketing.

  • Support and inform the development of New Product Development roadmaps as well as value propositions.

  • Participate in sales meetings, kaizen events, etc. - you will be able to use industry knowledge as an input for success!

  • Actively engage with customers and channel partners.

  • Travel as needed (estimated to be 25-50%).

  • Perform other duties, as required.

  • Share with the Commercial & Industrial Flow Business Unit leadership team responsibility for hitting growth targets:Increasing served available markets; Improving overall customer experience and ease of doing business; Developing new channels to market and expanding existing channels; Helping to drive lead generation and boost win rates.

  • Develop winning strategies in the Commercial and Industrial pump market.

  • Observed quality and depth of customer insights.

Key Qualifications:


  • Have earned at least a Bachelor's Degree in Marketing or a related field, MBA preferred but not required.

  • Have at least 7 years of professional experience with progressive marketing-oriented functions.

  • Background in multi-channel (distribution, end-user) B2B products.

  • Broad experience with both direct sales and channel sales business models is preferred.

  • Demonstrated success driving B2B sales for a technical product manufacturing organization.

  • Proven experience in developing strategic marketing plans, including marketing strategy, strategic marketing planning, and/or NPD roadmap development.

  • Advanced expertise in data-driven market intelligence: actionable VOC collection, market segmentation, competitor analysis, etc.; experience with driving analytical insights to achieve commercial success is highly-preferred.

  • Successful experience working in teams developing integrated marketing communications plans and lead generation tactics.
