Headquartered in Kansas City, Mo., its professionals in more than 30 offices throughout the U.S. perform a broad range of services to all sectors of the transportation and federal marketplaces. Services are delivered throughout the asset life cycle, from concept to construction to long-term operations, maintenance and rehabilitation.

TranSystems Philadelphia, PA office is in search of a Rail Construction Manager to work in our Construction Division.  The hire will be responsible for many aspects of construction project delivery; and be a key point of responsibility and accountability for the project. Responsibilities include pre-construction coordination, client relations, submittal review and approval, field measurement coordination, material inspections, general coordination, weekly progress meetings, change management, construction coordination, punch list and close out phases.  The hire will also at times assist other Construction inspectors and managers on construction projects throughout the USA.

Basic Qualifications


  • 15 plus years of experience and management of railroad projects

  • Good Communication Skills

  • Able to work efficiently alone; and well with other team members

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Products

  • Working knowledge of Construction Plans, Special Provisions, and State and Local Specifications governing the work.

  • Must be able to pass Background Check and Drug Testing.

  • Must have a valid driver’s license, and good driving record

     

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Work experience with Class 1 Railroads

  • Local candidate (No relocation or stipend assistance available)

 

Duties to Include:


  • Responsible for the oversight of day-to-day construction activities and the successful execution of a single or multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Provide direction and participate in project planning, scheduling, estimating, cost development, and establishing critical project objectives.

  • Manage existing client relationships while interfacing with the client for project related items.

  • Oversee Prime Contract, subcontractor, and client contractor invoicing process.

  • Perform project safety, quality, progress audits and assessments as required.

  • Reviewing Plans, Specifications, and other related documentation to ensure work is being completed per those guidelines.

  • Construction Observation, and documentation of work in progress to ensure accuracy of dimensions; specifications are followed; and materials used conform to the specifications outlined in the Plans.

  • Maintain daily logs and reports of construction activities.

  • Measure and record various items of work, and prepare Inspector Daily Reports recording quantities used onsite.

  • Prepare daily and weekly progress reports for distribution to the Client and other TranSystems staff members.

  • Interaction with Contractor(s) on status and upcoming work to identify any potential conflicts or issues.
