We are seeking an Outpatient Pediatric Clinical Speech Language Pathologist to:


  • Provide consultative and developmentally appropriate habilitative and rehabilitative treatment services to complex pediatric patients (infant to adolescent) in an outpatient setting in the domains of swallow, speech, language and cognition.

  • Have interest and some experience with feeding and swallowing difficulties in young children.

  • Work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to create comprehensive evidence-based patient and family treatment plans to maximize functional outcomes.

  • Work within the context of patient- and family- centered care as part of a primary and specialty care academic medical center.  

  • Seek continual learning opportunities to advance one’s own practice and educate others.

Education:
Minimum - Master’s level degree in Speech Language Pathology or Communicative Disorders.

Work Experience:
Minimum - Completion of Clinical Speech Language Pathology Fellowship.
Preferred - Experience in a medical setting as a Speech Language Pathologist.

Licenses and Certifications:
Minimum - Wisconsin state license (or eligible) to practice as a Speech Language Pathologist. Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Language Pathology (CCC - SLP). Certification in Healthcare Provider Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Automatic External Defibrillator within 3 months of hire.

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:


  • Familiarity with a variety of equipment, including computer software, is required.

  • Organization, independence, time management, flexibility, and a positive attitude are crucial to successful performance.

Physical Requirements:
Light: Ability to lift up to 20 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 pounds.

Work Schedule:
This is a full-time, 40 hours per week position scheduled to work day shift, Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Some earlier start times could be 7:00 am or 7:30 am. No weekends or holidays are required. Hours may vary based on the needs of the department.
