The Corporate Responsibility (CR) department is responsible for the development and implementation of the firm's CR agenda and initiatives by crafting goals, policies and initiatives that align with the firm's business strategies and operational objectives and support communities where we do business. CR includes Global Philanthropy (GP), Global Government Relations, Sustainability, Market Strategy, and Research and Policy, which comprises both the JPMC Institute and JPMC Policy Center.

The Research and Policy department seeks to hire a Business Manager (Associate), located in its Washington, D.C., office. This position will report to the Chief of Staff for Research & Policy, and serve as a critical player for the department in providing day-to-day management support to the JPMC Institute and JPMC Policy Center teams, supporting strategic planning and reporting, and strengthening communications and collaboration within and beyond Research & Policy teams.

Responsibilities:


  • Drive and support the full business strategy life cycle, including planning, reporting, and communicating strategies across teams and functions, in close partnership with Research & Policy leadership:

    • Collaborate across Research & Policy to communicate an integrated impact story through periodic reporting and executive presentations, including maintaining quality standards for reporting and analysis
    • Participate in and support development and tracking of strategic plans and priorities, including cross-CR business planning processes
    • Create and coordinate inputs and preparation for presentations, briefings, and progress reports for senior leaders, including reporting on priorities and accomplishments
    • Develop and implement processes to measure and evaluate impact of key engagement and advocacy initiatives

  • Deliver on and track the organizational and operational priorities of the Research & Policy senior team:

    • Work with the Chief of Staff to plan key internal meetings and offsites, including weekly, quarterly, and annual meetings. Responsibilities include setting agendas, identifying, inviting, and prepping speakers or panels, putting together briefing materials, and ensuring timely follow up on items.
    • Support highly visible management priorities, execution of cross-departmental projects, and other functional needs around real estate, hiring, finances, etc.
    • Promote and lead knowledge management and infrastructure efforts, including but not limited to shared drive, SharePoint, and other collaborative tools or platforms
    • Work with Chief of Staff and HR partners on recruitment, development, and training initiatives and processes for Research & Policy, including talent planning, internship programs, manager engagement, etc.
    • Support and drive change management initiatives, and proactively identify opportunities for process or management systems improvements


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree required; MBA, MPP, or advanced degree in related field a plus
  • Requires work experience of 3-5 years of relevant work experience in complex or matrixed organizations, preferably with experience supporting business strategy and/or operations
  • Results-oriented with strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills (PowerPoint and Excel, in particular) to support effective communications, reporting, and analysis; demonstrated attention to detail in work product
  • Strong relationship building skills with the ability to work effectively across functions and levels and to indirectly lead and gain consensus on process or project outcomes
  • Experience presenting to and communicating with senior management
  • Experience working with Salesforce, Tableau, JIRA, or comparable workplace software a plus
  • Passion for the JPMC Institute's and Policy Center's missions a must; familiarity with economic policy or research preferred
