This role is a member of the Organization Development Center of Expertise and is responsible for crafting and implementing a global L&D Strategy to provide global learning solutions, tools, technologies, and resources needed to foster a growth mindset in support to Alcoa’s strategic priorities. The incumbent will have the challenge to design a best in class L&D organization by building a global collaborative network with the various HR professionals across the globe, ensuring clear scopes, governance, consistency, best practice sharing and global oversight.Key responsibilities
· Responsible for the global learning and development strategy
· Continuously involve senior leaders in defining, prioritizing, and securing funding for capability-building programs
· Establish an L&D governance structure with global representatives leveraging collaboration and best practice
· Identify critical talent segments based on business strategy and objectives, as well as define core capability/skill set requirements for the future in support of our long term strategy
· Evaluate and implement new delivery methods and interventions to support both formal and informal learning, leveraging experiences, interactions with others, and targeted programs (70/20/10 framework)
· Lead the modernization of the L&D function by updating technology, channels, delivery methods and keeping Alcoa up to date with trends and best practices
· Act as a coach and thought leader to local L&D teams and other related areas touching employee development
· Identify and/or build engaging learning solutions aligned with critical skill development needs.
· Shape our culture of “Everyone’s Development Matters” to empower employees to acquire new, critical skills that will build needed capability
· Integrate and connect L&D with other HR processes (e.g., I&D) to allow for broader capability development
· Manage corporate/global vendors
· Build top executive development interventions
· Oversee HR Development strategy and plan
Essential Knowledge & Skills/Education
· Strong ability to create short and long run strategies to build sustainable processes and supporting systems tied to specific business needs
· Demonstrated ability to influence direction & outcomes and develop people through building relationships and credibility with leaders and teams.
· Strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively with individuals throughout the organization
· Demonstrated expertise related to Learning & Development function, specially leadership development
· Up to date in the latest trends and technologies concerning L&D
· Digital training experience
· Strong leadership and influencing skills
· Bachelors degree
· Minimum 10 Years HR Experience (Manufacturing experience preferred)
