Position Summary

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Evaluate injuries in order to design and execute appropriate rehabilitation exercises.

Communicate with coaching staffs, athletes, physicians, co-workers, students, parents, media, and consultants regarding the athletes healthcare

Maintain and implement comprehensive preventive physical conditioning programs for the student-athletes.

Plan and administer emergency care as needed

Make necessary medical referrals.

Organize and maintain daily medical records, including daily treatment logs using an Electronic Medical Record system.

Ensure that University, NCAA, federal and state policies, procedures, and/or regulations are followed.

Instruct and evaluate athletic training students.

Provide healthcare for student-athlete teams

Cover home and away contests.

Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills

Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing one or two years of post-bachelor degree work, such as a Masters in Physical Education with relevant coursework in athletic training; three to five years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in all aspects of athletic training or an equivalent combination of education and experience; and certification by the National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA).

Desired Qualifications

Division I collegiate experience as an athletic trainer.
