Job Description

QA process and deficiency records management support to PROGC, under the task assignment of PROGC PMR Department, QA Director/TAM. This task is designated as Key. TSM/ETC support includes, but is not limited to the following tasks:

a) Provide PROGC personnel with training on, and utilization support of the TSM System and ETC tool.

b) Deficiency records and processes to be supported include, but are not limited to: Surveillance (Product Verification/Procedure Review), Test Witnessing, Compartment Completion Inspection, Corrective Action Requests (CARs), Trial Cards, and Project Management records.

c) Develop and maintain ship unique data for PROGC deficiency record input into the ETC tool and TSM system.

d) Assist PROGC personnel in maintaining and updating the status of deficiency records from creation through closure in the ETC tool and TSM system.

e) Assist PROGC in the preparation of technical briefings, assessments, audits, and milestone reviews.

f) Utilizing available programs, tools, and data sources; assist in the preparation of weekly program management reports, program technical and financial metric status reports, and other reports as assigned.

g) Assist in maintaining PROGC calendar of events.

Qualifications for Quality Assurance Support are a minimum of six (6) years' experience in quality assurance oversight in HM&E systems within the maritime construction field, obtained through journeyman craft or QA experience in the construction of U.S. Navy surface combatants or Coast Guard Cutters.

a) Currently hold or ability to obtain Visual Inspection certification (VT Level II ASNT- SNTTC1A) through commercial or Government sources.

b) Currently hold or ability to obtain NAVSEA Basic Paint Inspector certification or NACE level II certification.

c) Working knowledge of shipboard pipe fabrication, electrical systems, cable installations, and testing.

d) Experience with military fabrication requirements (MIL-STD-22, MIL-STD-271,& MILSTD-278) for piping systems.

e) Experience with military and commercial installation requirements (DOD STD 2003, IEEE 45) for electrical systems and cableways.

f) Working knowledge of structure fabrication standard MIL-STD-1689 or ABS Steel Vessel Rules used in the construction of naval/commercial ships.

g) Working knowledge of paint application processes using COMDTINST M10360.3 (series), Coast Guard Coatings and Colors Manual, or Naval Ships Technical Manual (NSTM) 631.

h) Current NACI background investigation with an FBI fingerprint check.
