Job Description:


Manages all aspects of learning in Remote Guarding to ensure that work performed by department employees is accurate and in alignment with company objectives.

• Identifies learning needs and goals through needs assessment, consultation with management, consultation with subject matter exerts (SME) and other employees.

• Identifies appropriate delivery platform/method for each training need, including use of blended instructional design, included but not limited to:

o Classroom instruction

o e-learning

o Mobile instructional design

o Gaming and simulations

o Integration of media into design

• Using adult learning conventions and an understanding of knowledge transfer, develops training content, including comprehensive evaluations.

• Develops thorough and completely documented trainer guides so that each course may be facilitated by an SME.

• Performs continual review of training content to ensure that it is current and updated in a timely manner.

• Develops job aids for RG employees to support learning objectives and operational excellence.

• Maintains positive relationships with RG employees so employees are comfortable consulting with the Learning Solutions Manager for coaching, advice and any operational questions.

• Acts as an internal consultant to management to assist in evaluating the performance of employees. Assists in the preparation of employee development plans to ensure that employees are given appropriate opportunities to learn and improve under- developed skills.

• Provides coaching and guidance to individual employees upon request.

• Facilitates team meetings when learning updates are needed.

• Maintains records and prepares statistical reports to evaluate effectiveness of training activities and monitor progress of trainees.

• Identifies process improvements to enhance the efficiency of RG operation.

• Leads by example and acts as change champion to strengthen culture and increase employee engagement

• Practices the highest level of confidentiality regarding employee information.

• Acts to ensure compliance with company and legally mandated training requirements.

• Models company values of integrity, vigilance, and helpfulness at all times.


Additional qualifications may be specified and receive preference, depending upon the nature of the position.


Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of experience as a professional trainer in a corporate environment.

COMPETENCIES: (as demonstrated through experience, training, and/or testing):

• Knowledge of or ability to learn security services and operations.

• Knowledge of adult learning theory, facilitation and instructional design techniques suitable for on-site and remote learners.

• Thorough understanding of learner evaluation methods and implementation.

• Ability to conduct needs assessments and content evaluation studies.

• Skill in determining training needs, including identifying the components of performance and developing strategies for achieving performance improvement.

• Leadership skill with ability to manage, motivate, inspire, train, and mentor a team to strategically deliver excellent results that support collective departmental goals

• Skill in the use of audio-visual equipment and personal computers, including presentation software and on-line platforms.

• Oral and written communications skills; presentation and group facilitation skills.

• Planning, organizing, record maintenance, and project management skills.

• Skill in research and analysis.

• Skill in observation, coaching and providing feedback to employees.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively at various employee and customer levels from direct service personnel to executives, and across diverse cultures.

• Tech savvy, anticipating and adopting innovations in digital and technology applications

• Advanced computer skills, including intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and knowledge of on-line learning platforms.

Working Conditions and Physical/Mental Demands

• Maintaining composure in dealing with executives, clients, prospects, and staff, in group settings and in situations requiring high performance and results.

Remote Guarding operates 24 hours per day 7 days a week 365 days a year. Candidates must have the ability to occasionally work shift times that are not normal business hours of operation.
