Job Description:


Position Title: SEC Reporting Analyst

Reports To (Title): Controller

Department: Finance

FLSA Status: Exempt

Purpose: The SEC Reporting Analyst is responsible for the preparation of financial schedules and disclosures that support the Company's external financial reporting requirements, primarily the Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC). This position is also responsible for research of applicable accounting and reporting disclosures requirements to adhere to appropriate accounting policies, procedures and disclosures in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). The position also performs operational support duties within the Accounting and Finance Departments.

Essential Functions: The major duties of the job that constitute the fundamental tasks and or responsibilities of the position. Employees must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.

1. Prepares and files various SEC reports in accordance with SEC filing requirements. Prepares and maintains supporting documentation and schedules for all SEC reports generated which include: 10-Q/K, (including Earnings Press Releases), Schedule 14A "Proxy", 11-K, Section 16 Forms (Forms 3, 4 & 5) and 8-Ks (as needed).

2. Researches applicable accounting and reporting disclosures requirements for adherence to appropriate accounting policies, procedures and disclosures in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Tracks, reads and interprets accounting and SEC proposals and final issuances to ensure Company compliance with requirements are known and implemented appropriately.

3. Plans and maintains detailed documentation and workpapers to support any external or internal audit or review of all SEC filed reports and forms.

4. Prepares and maintains large amounts of data using appropriate technology, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of information, calculations and outputs. Maintains the system of internal controls established via the Accounting policies of the Company.

5. Maintains stock-based compensation plan accounting records including grants, exercises, vesting, forfeitures and expirations using appropriate third-party software. Prepares monthly general ledger entries to record expense.

6. Collaborates with other departments and personnel as needed in completing accounting research, reporting disclosures and accounting tasks in conformance with the Accounting policies of the Company.

7. Demonstrates the standards and principles of the Five Star Bank experience in every interaction with internal and external customers and associates. Incorporates the high-performance behaviors of teamwork, leading by example and service in every facet of work.

Job-Related Qualifications:

Education:

Required: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business-related field

Preferred: MBA or Masters Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business-related field

Prior Experience:

Required: - 3+ Years Experience - Type: Public Accounting, Auditing, Accounting or Finance experience in a Banking environment

Preferred: - 3+ Years Experience - Type: Public Accounting with SEC public company experience

Licenses or Accreditation:

Required: CPA




Competencies:

1. Possess knowledge and understanding of financial, regulatory and audit key concepts/standards (GAAP and SEC reporting requirements and financial statements)

2. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact positively and professionally with all levels of staff and management

3. Understanding of internal control, audit methods, core business procedures, risks and related exposure

4. Analytical ability to interpret data and present it in a meaningful and easily understood form while providing recommendations

5. Possess a high level of attention to detail to ensure accuracy

6. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet established deadlines.

7. Proficient in Microsoft Office with the ability to learn and utilize new existing banking, accounting and reporting and planning software applications
