We are currently looking to hire a Principal Scientist based in Louisville, Colorado!

In this role, you will be responsible for:

• Supporting the global acceleration of Danone's Plant Based Food & Beverage business through technical leadership, product and process design support, and ingredient functionality mastery.


• Work closely with local and global functional stakeholders to progress plant-based technology enabler programs.


• Work closely with ingredient and equipment vendors to identify and progress the basic research in plant-based protein, extraction, and functionality.


• Deliver product and process breakthroughs, protectable technologies and great tasting, superior category innovations through expanded technical expertise in plant protein chemistry, protein extraction, and emulsion sciences


• Lead key open innovation technical programs to advance the plant-based category


• Support technical training programs across Danone's global footprint


• 
  Identify and scout leading ingredient and process technologies to drive a competitive advantage
  
  

The base compensation range for this position is $98,000-146,000. About You:

• Master's Degree in Food Science, Plant Protein Chemistry, Food Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or closely related field preferred (PhD preferred) with 10+ years of experience in product development in the food industry.


• Strong technical skills on product formulation, industrial processes, ingredient functionality, and product-process interactions; preferred in-depth knowledge on dairy and non-dairy protein and functional ingredient technologies.


• Knowledgeable in natural and clean label ingredient selection, formulation, processing equipment, and operating conditions


• Extensive technical and theoretical knowledge of plant protein science and manufacturing processes


• Strong project management/organization and leadership skills


• Excellent communication skills (both written and oral) and the ability to interact with all company functions locally and globally including R&D, Marketing, Purchasing and Operations


• Comfortable and passionate about creating, rapid prototyping, development, and commercialization of ideas under tight timelines.
