Job Description:

The Project Manager will be focused on executing capital equipment projects on time and on budget with a strong focus on customer satisfaction.  The role involves managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders and suppliers to achieve project expectations. The Project Manager also works closely with colleagues in legal, accounting, order handling, sales, purchasing and manufacturing roles to ensure compliance with internal processes and customer agreements.  The Project Manager will have strong technical and commercial skills needed to verify and execute all contractual requirements effectively.


  • To manage multiple simultaneous capital equipment projects to meet established schedule, scope, and budget by providing leadership and direction across multiple teams to ensure follow through from inception to implementation.

  • Responsible for customer satisfaction and project scope, schedule, and budget.

  • Reviews all aspects of the project hand-over package from sales.

  • Schedules and leads kickoff and project status meetings with customers, sales and cross-functional teams.

  • Create, communicate, and report project schedule with input from all stakeholders.

  • Acts as primary contact for customer communication over the course of the project.

  • Coordinates documentation submittal / approval process.

  • Coordinates with external inspectors assign by the customer.

  • Directs invoicing according to milestone achievement.

  • Notifies and coordinates with sales for change order control as required.

  • Coordinates installation and startup services.

  • Support sales personnel in responding to customer requests for commercial and technical information as a part of the bid process.

  • Secure currency contracts (amounts, timing, etc.) for managed projects.

  • Maintain accuracy of order backlog and margin reports within financial reporting tools.

  • Coordinate claim activities through claim support system.

  • Develop strong working relationships with customers and sales channels.

  • Provide sales support by participating in sales calls and conference meetings with representatives, distributors, end-users, contractors, engineering houses, and other prospective customers to develop concepts, evaluate customer needs, and further the sales process on an as-needed basis.

  • Supports training, communications, and change management within the organization.

  • Responsible for reporting regular status updates to management and key project stakeholders.

  • Occasionally provides status to senior executives.

  • Establishes the appropriate project/team structure, reporting and metrics to measure and monitor performance against plan.

  • Manage non-customer projects as needed.

  • Recommend improvements and enhancements regularly to improve overall processes, customer experience and delivery.

  • Occasional local, domestic U.S. or international travel may be required

Education (degree or years) and/or Certification/Registration:


  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field and/or 5 or more years of capital equipment project management experience.

  • Formal Project Management training through an accredited project management education provider preferred.

  • Certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP) through the Project Management Institute (PMI) or a similar certification preferred

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Attributes Desired in Candidate:


  • Must be proficient with program, project, and quality management methodologies.

  • Demonstrated ability to perform simple to moderate process and analytical analysis.

  • Strong oral and written communications skills.

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Strong working knowledge of MS Project or equivalent project management software.
