Job Description
The Compass Preschool full-time assistant will be responsible for assisting the Compass Preschool director to ensure a high quality Christian education that meets Arizona Early Learning Standards in an environment that is safe, healthy, and loving.

State Date: Immediately

Qualifications

• High School Diploma


• CDA or 15 credit hours in Early Childhood Education


• Experience working with young children from a variety of backgrounds


• Personal qualities: passionate, patient, relentless work ethic, humility, positive in the face of challenges and loving

Knowledge and Skills

• Passion for integrating the Christian faith and character development in all aspects of a preschool environment.


• Excellent ability to relate to young children, teachers and parents.


• Knowledge of current technology for personal and classroom use, including the ability to use Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and other software as determined by the Compass Preschool Director.


• Demonstrated success working in a team environment.


• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.


• Demonstrated knowledge of child development and appropriate growth and learning milestones.

Responsibilities

• Embody and demonstrate a loving, positive character and ensure that students exhibit the same values.


• Assist Compass Preschool Director in monitoring student progress.


• Supervisor and guide small groups of students as they learn throughout the day.


• Create teaching moments out of everyday occurrences.


• Attend all staff meetings and training sessions.


• Build rapport with students, parents and families so they understand unambiguously that teachers love them.


• Support the success of all Compass programs.


• Assist Compass Preschool Director in assuring compliance with all city, county and state fire, safety and licensing regulations.


• Communicate and abide by all policies and procedures mandated by Compass Educational Programs.


• Develop activities and supervise a small group of children in the before- and after-care program for preschool.


• Assist in maintaining a well-organized, safe, clean, and attractive classroom environment conducive to learning.
