POSITION SUMMARY:

As an enthusiastic data story teller who effortlessly molds data into any structure you choose, you’ll apply your uncanny ability to see the larger data picture to help our Product Support team provide superior customer assistance, and aid in our attempt to eliminate customer disruptions entirely!  You’ll regularly drive data reporting initiatives and consult leaders about how data should be visualized for maximum effect.  Working alongside a close-knit and highly skilled data team, your contributions will play a significant role in our success, so come join the fun!

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Data Warehousing & Data Visualization Expertise

• Have strong knowledge of data warehousing best practices


• Design, develop, and test ETLs using SQL and Python’s Airflow


• Design, create and maintain Data Visualizations using Qlik Sense


• Interact with Product Support and IT teams to fully understand data sources


• Perform technical root cause analysis for ETLs and Qlik Sense data loads when needed

• Effectively distills business needs into appropriate technical ETL designs and data visualizations while considering short and long-term goals


• Work collaboratively and professionally in a team environment with other Garmin associates to achieve goals


• Demonstrate quality and effectiveness in work documentation and organization

• Continually improve team requirements gathering, development, documentation and testing processes


• Proactively identify opportunities to make improvements in ETLs or data visualizations and raise those up to leadership

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

Qualified candidates possess a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Business or another relevant field and 2 years relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. Other requirements include: 

•    Demonstrated experience in successful implementation of technology solutions

•    Must demonstrate proficiency and possess experience necessary to design, enhance and develop applications

•    Familiarity with Oracle Business Intelligence suite

•    Experience with Business Intelligence tools such as Qlik

•    Experience with scripting and database tools such as Python and SQL

•    Demonstrated strong an effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills in a large team or departmental setting

Desirable Qualifications

• Candidates with superior academics (GPS of 3.5 or higher)  


• Previous experience working in a team environment are highly preferred!
