Hours: 12 noon- 8:30pm plus on call when needed

Pay: $21.00-$28.00 based on experience

Position Summary

Working from work requests (stored in CMMS -Computerized Maintenance Management System); work procedures; or other written, verbal or electronic instructions; performs a wide variety of self-directed mechanical and electrical duties to maintain production equipment and facilities in a safe, clean, and efficiently operational manner. Adheres to procedures and prepares and maintains records, in either written or electronic form, regarding safety, quality, productivity, preventive maintenance, and housekeeping.

Core Responsibilities


  • Troubleshoots industrial machinery and equipment: electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and PLC logic systems.


  • Observes and listens to mechanical devices in operation to locate causes of trouble; repairs equipment in a timely manner.


  • Dismantles machines or equipment, replacing defective parts and motors, and adjusting feed mechanisms.


  • Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments to ensure machines are operating within validated parameters.


  • Reads, interprets, understands, and works from drawings, sketches, schematics, machine manuals, CMM work requests, and other written, electronic or verbal instructions.


  • Uses measuring devices and visual inspections to ensure quality of product and conformity to prints, work instructions, and standards.


  • Trouble shoots, repairs, and/or installs AC/DC motors, switches, relays and solenoid valves and low voltage control circuits. 


Qualifying Experience


  • High School Diploma/GED

  • One or more years of related experience (facilities/equipment/mechanical maintenance, etc.)

  • Industrial Electrician, Maintenance Mechanic, Machinist certifications highly preferred or any combination of experience and education to meet the above requirements

  • Excellent working knowledge of hydraulic, electrical and pneumatic theory

  • Good working knowledge of rigging, and the use of heavy lifting equipment

  • Working knowledge and ability to troubleshoot industrial machinery and equipment: electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and PLC logic systems

  • Must have the ability to lift routinely up to 30 pounds

  • May be required to lift items weighing 70 pounds

  • Ability to follow electrical code manuals to perform maintenance and repair on industrial machinery and equipment

  • Ability to test and diagnose AC circuits that are 480,220,120 volts

  • Ability to operate a forklift

  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

  • Ability to positively deal with problems and resolve issues as they relate to the maintenance of the production facilit
