Commercial Operations Manager - FLEXIBLE LOCATION: NASHVILLE, TN, ST. CHARLES, MO, FREMONT, NE, LEWISBURG, OH OR NORTH SIOUX CITY, SD
This role is responsible for the development and execution of operational strategies to move raw materials into the Royal Canin North America manufacturing facilities. Secondary responsibilities include cross-functional troubleshooting raw materials when there is an issue in the inbound process or product needs to be returned and partnering with Supplier Quality Assurance when there is a need for a waiver as well as for any claim process. The position is fully accountable for the right product being in the right place at the right time, in the right quantities. The role is a stakeholder in the sourcing strategy process, and the key contact for the successful execution of those strategies to the factories. The role is expected to evaluate the supply chain and Supplier capabilities, and to recommend and assist with process improvements and optimization strategies. The role operates in a pet friendly, open office environment supporting the Mars vision to Make a Better World for Pets .
What we're looking for:
Minimum: Bachelor's Degree required in Supply Chain, Procurement, Logistics or related field
Minimum: 3-year experience in Supply Chain, Procurement, and Project Management in a progressive and dynamic environment
Experiences with continuous improvement and supply chain optimization programs; and supplier relationship management including managing supplier scorecards/performance models
Knowledge of manufacturing, operations and financial data analysis
Preferred: 3-5 years related experiences
Minimum: Strong alignment skills with the ability to communicate vision and gain alignment with stakeholders both internally and externally
Experience in sourcing, planning, category management or engineering
Strong analytical skills with thought leadership that drives strategy and execution
Strong project management skills
Sound interpersonal skills enabling the incumbent to work effectively with cross-functional teams
Computer skills (ie: Excel). Experience in SAP or other ERP systems is a plus
What you'll be doing:
Develop and execute the In-bound Supply Chain Strategy to achieve a world class in-bound supply chain
Support forecasting activities between the Flow team and Suppliers
First point of contact for service issues. Work through issues with Supplier bottle necks or material shortages
Responsible & Accountable for service KPIs (OTIF & ATS): including periodic reviews with the (7) manufacturing facilities & utilizing data for the supplier performance reviews
Participate in all relevant aspects of the S&OP process, Responsible for the weekly Commercial/Flow meeting, leads Commercial section of the weekly Factory Service Review (FSR) & participates in factory TLT meetings
Lead Operations section of Supplier Scorecard - measurement & management of supplier performance
Responsible for the claim process & demurrage tracking
Drive and leverage supplier's capabilities to reduce Mars Total Cost of Ownership (TCO)
Lead logistics cost reduction program
Be the interface between suppliers and supply chain operations to solve and prevent assigned raws and packs category supply issues, enabling a high-level of service to production sites and driving excellence in execution
Evaluate optimal inventory levels, implement inventory programs with suppliers, monitor supplier adherence to both inventory and lead times to minimize the risk of obsolescence
Own the supplier logistics relationship for material, including communication of material requirements
Operational buying as needed to support the region
Work closely with Strategic Sourcing and R&D and Supply divisions to identify, develop, and maximize the cost reduction opportunities through developing a cost savings productivity pipeline cost savings
Responsible for ensuring the delivery of business results in the following key areas:
