I. Job Summary | Major goals and objectives.

The video department at Meredith Corporation produces thousands of videos per year. Our content ranges from original longform pieces to high-quality branded content for Meredith's advertisers, as well as editorial content for Meredith brands including: People, Travel and Leisure, InStyle, Shape, Food and Wine, Parents and Martha Stewart Living.

Meredith seeks a passionate, skilled Video Editor. The ideal candidate must be self-led, creative, and possess strong organizational and communication skills. The ideal candidate will also have the ability to effectively multi-task.

This role will report to the Post Production Supervisor. You will have oversight over editing a wide variety of content for the Lifestyle and Entertainment brands in the Meredith umbrella.

II. Essential Job Functions

Accountabilities, Actions and Expected Measurable Results


  • Work closely with producers, editors and animators to execute edits.

  • Help Producers creatively develop edits with tight turnarounds.

  • Edit Videos using Adobe Premiere and After Effects.

  • Ensure videos meet brand guidelines.

  • Work within the Zoom asset management tool (training will be provided) and within Bebop (a platform that provides a virtual cloud-based Adobe Premiere workstation)

  • Stay current on all the leading trends in post-production & creative video editing.

  • Attend and contribute towards organized and productive meetings with all levels of the department

  • Partner with the media asset management team to cleanly archive all finished video edits

  • Provide prioritization decisions and oversight on multiple video edits

  • Monitor and communicate regarding your progress on your video edits while managing your own deadlines

III. Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements | All must be met to be considered.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Film & Television or a related field is preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3-6 years' experience in editing video content at a major digital, TV or social network. You are fluent in Adobe Premiere and After Effects, with working knowledge of Photoshop and Illustrator.

Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:



  • Strong creative acumen. You have the ability to creatively guide a video edit from inception through to completion while staying within the creative parameters of the brand guidelines.


  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal) not just in telling stories through editing, but between you and the wider team.


  • Attention to Detail. You understand the devil is in the details.


  • Technical expertise. You have knowledge of various video codecs and formats.


  • Calm under pressure. You are organized and professional, and can deliver high quality editing projects under tight deadlines.
