The Sr. (Lead) Data Protection Analyst will have working knowledge and experience of enterprise backup and recovery tools. Working experience of security best practices, cross functional teams and technology execution of large IT projects. Technical decision making, creating and modifying technical standards, procedures and policies. Able to work with cross functional diverse teams.
This position may be eligible for flexible work arrangements. Management will confirm the options for flexibility. Business needs and/or on-call responsibilities may require you to report to campus.
Essential Functions:
Knowledge and working experience of one or more of the major backup and recovery tools including IBM, HP, Hitachi, Dell, Pure, Rubrik, Cohesity, and Veem.
Multi-site data replication and performance tuning, data immutability and data vaulting. Use of Cloud technology for data replication and protection. Working in a regulated environment, preferably in power utility industry. Knowledge and preferably experience of general IT environment including operating systems, application development, application integration, networks, servers and storage. Application layer container technology and orchestration, failover and switchover. Working with internal and external IT audits.
Able to lead cross functional teams including internal and external/vendor teams to support development of technical strategic and implementation plans and execution of projects and initiatives.
Able to provide oversight to internal and external / vendor teams to ensure smooth execution of Operations and Maintenance activities in the area of Data Protection / Backup & Recovery.
Characteristics & Qualifications:
Required:
BS degree in Engineering Computer Science or at least 5 years of experience Handling enterprise level backup and recovery environment using enterprise class tools, data protection and security working knowledge and experience.
Working with general IT tools and general security knowledge. Strong performance tuning and problem diagnostics skills
At least 5 years of experience
Ability to communicate effectively in a team environment Experience leading recovery drills and tabletop exercises.
Experience using verbal and written communications skills
Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite (MS-Word, MS-Excel and MS-PowerPoint)
Experience with implementing IT architectural resilience with focus on data protection and security Experience with technical architecture and working knowledge of data replication, backup and recovery tools in an enterprise class environment.

Preferred:
MS, Engineering or at least 5 years of experience
Technical decision making in critical environments, technology evaluations, Working closely with PMO along with IT and Business SME’s.
At least 5 years of experience Experience with NERC / FERC regulation in an ISO/RTO environment Experience dealing with IT internal and external audits Communication and presentation skills Experience with large scale cross functional IT projects implementation
Experience with PJM operations, markets, and planning functions
Experience using PSS/e (power system analysis program)
