Job Description

Summary:

The role of the Critical Systems Manager is to support the day to day operations and maintenance of the Critical Systems group, in support of the Los Angeles site manufacturing operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Perform the following Scheduling Activities:


  • Evaluate Work Orders in JD Edwards (JDE) as supplied by planning and scheduling staff and prioritize parts kitting, procurement, and storage to allow for parts availability.

  • Ensure planned Preventative Maintenance (PM) work orders parts are ready for use within the defined maintenance window (Grace Period).

  • Works with Maintenance Manager to anticipate long lead time parts demand and with MRO subcontractor to ensure parts availability when needed.

  • Coordinate MRO subcontractor to ensure parts fulfillment in a professional and compliant manner.

  • Evaluate parts inventory for obsolete parts and data anomalies

  • Notify planning and scheduling when parts unavailability may require a PM extension.

  • Trending of stockouts, rush orders, parts consumption and report out to Engineering management.

  • Attends meetings with MRO subcontractor and review of performance and KPI reporting.

  • Provide a parts consumption forecast in support of budgeting activity.

  • Management of MRO subcontractor account, including purchase requests/orders, invoice approval and analysis of part usage trends. Approval of purchases and facilitation of analysis of data interface between Takeda and Synovos’ systems.

  • Review of potential scrap material and coordination with engineering resources to determined adequate safety stock levels

  • Participation in program improvement to remove inefficiencies and uncertainties, enforce contract compliance and ensure Takeda deliverables are achieved by subcontractor.

Support as required the following MRO duties:


  • Physically perform job walks to scope out storeroom arrangements and ensure safe and orderly storage of MRO inventory.

  • Tracking of parts usage per vendor and per system to provide granular detail to site leadership.

  • Determine parts and material requirements for each Work Order as presented by planning and scheduling as needed.

  • Maintaining an accurate, up-to-date backlog status of urgently needed parts to ensure PM activity is not delayed beyond grace period

  • Notify Reliability Engineering to update/revise BOM on equipment missing/incorrect parts.

  • Facilitate accurate PM model work order review are properly set-up with their required parts in JDE system to automatically kit when PMs are generated.

  • Provide feedback to Reliability Engineering regarding obsolete/missing equipment.

Qualifications:


  • Strong understanding of maintenance principal with an ability to deal with complex processes and procedures

  • Excellent organizational skills.

  • Excellent oral/written communication skills.

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment

  • Ability to work effectively on cross-functional teams.

  • Computer skills and systems knowledge required.

  • Ability to think systematically, strong problem solving and system knowledge.

  • Strong persuasion and negotiation skills.

Education and/or experience:

Typically requires Bachelors' degree, preferable in science, engineering or related technical field with some leadership experience is preferred. 6+ years of related experience.

Physical Demands:

•     Must be able to lift, push, pull and carry up to 25 lbs.

•     In general, the position requires a combination of sedentary work and

walking around observing conditions in the facility.

Working Environment:


  • Must be able to work in controlled environments requiring special gowning. Will be required to follow gowning requirements and wear protective clothing over the head, face, hands, feet, and body

  • No make-up, jewelry, contact lenses, nail polish or artificial fingernails may be worn in the manufacturing environment.

  • Will work in a cold and/or wet environment.

  • Must be able to work multiple shifts, including weekends.

  • Non-Exempt Roles only: Must be able to work overtime as required.

  • May be required to work in a confined area.

  • Some Clean Room and cool/hot storage conditions.
