Overview

The General Maintenance assists the maintenance department in a timely, helpful, and courteous manner while maintaining a clean and organized shop, parts room, and surrounding areas. The General Maintenance is responsible for picking up new, used and/or rebuild parts from various vendors. Under close supervision, performs basic preventive and remedial maintenance and repairs of truck/trailer and/or automotive vehicles, and assists other mechanics in more complex assignments and performs other related duties.

Responsibilities

The General Maintenance is responsible for keeping the shop clean and organized.
• This includes but not limited to; putting parts away, organizing parts room, keeping waste oil area clean and organized and emptying trash containers regularly.


• Keep all common areas clean/sanitized and maintained. This includes bathrooms, offices, break area, refrigerator, sweep bay areas etc.


• The General Maintenance is also responsible for picking up new, used and/or rebuild parts from various vendors to help downtime of equipment in the shop.


• Perform daily weekly and monthly safety inspection and remediate any discrepancies noted.


• General Maintenance maintains, supports, and promotes a safe work environment while complying with all of SC Fuels safety rules, policies, and procedures


• Perform other job-related duties as assigned by management

Qualifications

• 1-3 years' experience as a with general maintenance, heavy equipment and/or automotive mechanic


• Must have a valid California Class C driver's license or be able to obtain a California


• Class C driver's license prior to beginning employment with SC Fuels.


• Industry experience preferred


• Perform other job-related duties as assigned by direct supervisor.


• Maintain and repair heavy mechanical and/or automotive equipment under close supervision.


• Safely operate a variety of hand tools and shop power equipment.



• Read, write, speak, and understand English.



• Follow oral and written instructions and read, write, speak, and understand English.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Lift and move objects weighing up to 75 pounds.
