Located at Motiva's Port Arthur Manufacturing Complex, the Social Responsibility & Community Affairs (SRCA) Advisor will work with community members, nonprofit organizations, and fellow employees to drive Motiva's reputation and social impact through sponsorships, charitable giving, employee volunteering, and strategic partnerships. This role employs social responsibility, program management, and strategic communications techniques for volunteer recruitment, event promotion, logistical support, record-keeping, and relationship building. The position requires close coordination of concurrent programs and projects across the business with external organizations in a very dynamic, fast-paced company.
Responsibilities:
Lead and manage key community programs designed to enhance Motiva's standing in the community, including Motiva's Excellence in Education Scholarship Program and ASPIRE, Student Mentoring Program.
Enhance Motiva's community involvement by coordinating the logistics for the company's volunteerism, giving campaigns, and related community involvement activities (such as volunteer committees, matching gifts programs, and on-site employee events).
Responsible for tracking and reporting on community relations activities, including social investment, scholarships, and stakeholder engagement, in accordance with department metrics.
Develop or provide input on social media, website content, calendars and other communication materials pertaining to community programs and events.
Provide guidance to various departments and business assets on community engagement and social investment opportunities to identify strategic community investment initiatives
Partner with various charitable organizations to develop and execute community outreach campaigns, projects, and special events.
Ensure ongoing programmatic excellence, including consistent quality in all aspects of program management.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field
Minimum of five years' experience in corporate community involvement, community relations, community partnerships, corporate philanthropy, or corporate social responsibility
Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
Must have excellent presentation skills
Knowledge of PPT, Word, Excel and database software; willingness to learn company systems
Capable of functioning in a cross-disciplined team environment while executing individual responsibilities
Superior project management and time management skills and must possess a strong attention to detail
Outstanding self-motivated team player with integrity and a high commitment to personal excellence
Ability to travel regionally on a regular basis and work after hours and on weekends when necessary
