Otter Products is recruiting for a Sr. Category Manager join our Product team to focus on Screen Protection in Fort Collins, CO.

As a Sr. Category Manager, your focus is to manage the full product portfolio of screen protection, leveraging all new or existing innovation that will increase the sales and profitability of a business while driving sustainable growth,. You will ensure all solutions are analyzed and the appropriate portfolio is established to be in line with strategic goals and growth targets. In this position, you will work closely with Sales, Marketing and the Product Line Managers as well as senior leadership to identify gaps or opportunities to optimize the appropriate portfolio in line with strategic direction. Responsibilities

    Leadership responsibility for developing and driving category strategy that will best position the category to win in all relevant consumer and commercial market segments and geographies.
  • Ensuring cross-functional coordination and collaboration efforts including:

    • Defining strategic goals with Category VP

    • Incorporating business and category insights and proposals to the business by analyzing market and consumer data

    • Identifying emerging market trends to support 1-3 year strategic objectives

    • Partnering with innovation teams to identify opportunities from consumer/end user and customer insights that drive product refresh activities sand future innovations.

    • Leading competitive analysis, and developing plans to beat the competition in market

    • Partnering with the sales and marketing team to develop product narratives/stories and marketing strategies that will connect with consumers/end users hearts and minds

    • Participate in the development of portfolio-level business cases and investment recommendations to senior leadership

    • Responsibility for the successful implementation/execution of portfolio plans within the category or categories

    • Partnering to support PLMs to:

      • Ensure all new launches of new products and/or series across each region meet launch expectations and necessary time to market

      • Successfully managing the product roadmap(s) by defining optimal strategies with right pricing, costs, timing, brand and features

      • Functions as a central resource within the organization as products move through their lifecycle





  • Create Roadmap/Portfolio and Packaging plan that is holistic across category and supports and drives 3-5 year strategy, by working with all of the cross-functional teams

  • Share and incorporate cross-category strategies to identify portfolio solutions across other organizational categories and business segments

  • Assist in category prioritization and alignment to accommodate resourcing available and capabilities that enable targeted growth as needed.

  • Guide packaging priorities/strategic intent, develop timeline of events (e.g. packaging refresh for LP on [date]), drive packaging research and consumer insight by distilling and driving core strategic questions and anticipate and manage customer packaging requests/requirements/directives and plan execution thereof

  • Develop MRD by brand and category including communication requirements, structural requirements and holistic cost strategy and management

  • Develop in cooperation with Global Supply Chain and Packaging teams strategic sourcing strategies that enable the efficient Transition Strategy) that includes a long-term refresh/renewal/transition planning, analysis for packaging changes, approach to product already in market and how the Sales and Sales Ops teams will bring to consumers and vendors

  • Support and grow relationships as lead point of contact with key alliance/partnership associated with the category

  • Partner and collaborate with core cross-functional team (such as Product, Sales, Marketing, Engineering, and Supply Chain) to align on goals, tackle challenges in the business, and drive category strategic initiatives

  • Partner with regions to understand region-specific needs and opportunities to shape global product strategy for given category or categories

  • Partner with Global Partner Management team to ensure OEM insights and partnership opportunities are integrated into portfolio strategy

  • Establish and track annual goals and metrics for the Category Team and monitor monthly to ensure expectations are being met; course-correct as necessary through active performance management

  • Actively participate in and contribute as a product category owner in Product Management Reviews per the IBP process as well as other key meetings as needed

  • Oversee and or lead the training of the Sales teams, evangelize new products, and assist with joint sell-in programs and increase revenue within our key channel partners

  • Serve as key point of contact for product-related communications across organization

  • Support and maintain a positive safety culture by being an active leader in all safety program initiatives

  • Other duties as required

Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree required. Experience in lieu of degree may be considered.
*Minimum ten years of product management and/or product marketing experience including conceiving, developing and driving innovative products is required.

USD $108,800.00/Yr.

For US Based Roles Only - Compensation Range Maximum

USD $136,000.00/Yr.
