Responsibilities
Job Summary:
The Sales Engineer accompanies Account Executives and Outside Sales Representatives on sales visits, performs site surveys, and makes product recommendations. The position also assists in developing solutions as needed and works with the Order Entry Specialist to ensure orders are completed in an accurate and timely fashion. The Sales Engineer works primarily with simple and complex data solutions and to a lesser extent, telephony and video.
Responsibilities:
Accompanies outside Sales Reps and Acct Executives on sales visit, as needed.
Assists outside Sales Reps and Acct Executives with determining customer requirements and developing proposals.
Conducts site surveys to determine customer requirements and network compatibility
Develops and executes technical presentations to internal/external groups as needed.
Reviews proposals created by Outside Sales Reps and Acct Executives to provide necessary input
Interfaces with customers and vendors to ensure the integrity of Suddenlink proposals.
Works with the test lab to ensure feasibility of all new/custom products and solutions
Interfaces with Operations and Engineering to ensure network availability/serviceability/profitability before orders are finalized.
Acts as liaison between engineering and sales in determining costs and profitability of proposed projects.
Attends data group and network meetings
Understands the core network and communicates network changes to sales team
Works with product champions as active part of product rollout teams, to ensure the sales team's understanding of new products
Provides feedback on products to corporate
Provides input to Order Entry Specialist in order to complete orders in a timely fashion.
Participate on Solution development Teams created for large/complex customers
Remains current on technical information regardingAltice's telephony, data or video products and services through completion of required/recommended training programs.
Essential Functions:
Ability to carry and to use tools and equipment as necessary
Ability to complete documentation, and inspect, install, and repair materials and equipment.
Ability to communicate in person and by telephone.
Ability to regularly carry, lift and move up to 80 pounds of equipment,on a daily basis.
Ability to occasionally carry, lift, and move up to 100 pounds of equipmenton a daily basis.
The job demands sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, crouching, and squatting.

Qualifications
Qualifications/Requirements:
Bachelor's degree preferably with a concentration in Systems Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
Experience in communications industry
2+ years of experience in Customer Premises Equipment (CPE), including knowledge of installation of functionality
Knowledge of telephony, data, and video products and services
Ability to effectively communicate with Account Executives, Outside Sales Reps, customers, and other functional groups as necessary.
Ability to analyze orders to determine accuracy and completeness
Computer skills including Windows based applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, Outlook)
Must have a clean driving record and be able to travel to customer locations within the system.
Preferred Experience:
Experience with Ethernet networking (LAN/WAN, routing protocols) preferred
Knowledge of MEF standards (NNI, UNI, E-LAN, E-Line, V-Line) preferred
Knowledge in Cybersecurity (Firewalls, endpoint, anti-malware) preferred
Knowledge of Optical transport (Wave services, SONET, TDM) preferred
Knowledge of Cloud Based Services (AWS, Google,VoiP) preferred
Cisco experience and/or certification preferred
