Job Description:

JOB SUMMARY:The Product Engineering Device Specialist will be responsible for driving all device management efforts, including partnering with manufacturers, managing strategic partners, driving all device selection and validation efforts, and addressing all device related support issues.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or similar degree preferred, or a combination of education, skills and related experience
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSE/REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS:Relevant technology certifications a plus
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:-3+ years of experience regarding the procurement, fulfillment and support of devices (both tablets and handhelds) that support applications; experience providing support in the pharmaceutical industry (including clinical trials) a plus-3+ years of experience working closely with device manufacturers, preferably with managing a strategic partner-Expertise with Android, MS Windows and iOS devices-An aptitude for multitasking-Proficient in MS Office, specifically Word, Excel and Outlook-Strong written and verbal communication
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required.-Work with the WCG account teams, strategic partner and manufacturers to ensure there is always adequate inventory of devices to meet business needs.-Oversee life cycle management for all devices, including the projecting of end of life (EOL) for a given device, identifying potential next version / new device and vetting the new device.-Work with WCG IT Services team regarding the building of the 'golden image' for each of the devices.-Forge strong relationships with device manufacturers, including monthly reviews of their device life cycles, new models / capabilities, etc.-Manage strategic partner in charge of fulfillment of devices, including providing direction, ensuring compliance with applicable work instructions, removing hurdles and, if needed, requiring and reviewing of root cause analyses.-Preside over monthly strategic partner governance meeting, including review of SLAs.-Investigate, analyze, and document device related reported defects.-Work closely with Tier 1, Tier 2 and Tier 3 teams to troubleshoot issues.-Drive all device related validation efforts.-Leverage technical expertise to ensure that WCG remains on the competitive and technical forefront of the pharmaceutical services industry.-On occasion may require evening and weekend work, based on business need.-Other duties as assigned by supervisor. These may, on occasion, be unrelated to the position described here.-Attendance and punctuality are essential functions of the position.
