Instrumentation and Automation Technician
This position requires a high level of electrical and automation knowledge, including but not limited to the responsibilities listed below. Candidates must be a self-starter willing to accept "operational responsibility" and ready to work Night Shift including weekends.
Safety
Must observe and practice all Brewery Safety Procedures. Includes wearing the proper PPE throughout the Brewery.
Must be able to work in and promote a team-oriented and "Safety First" environment. Safely, efficiently and effectively work to attain brewery goals and objectives.
Technical
Build and maintain positive working relationships with all team peers by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs during each shift.
Work autonomously to diagnose and repair instrumental and process malfunctions.
Diagnose and repair all machinery and process system malfunctions must be fluent in electrical troubleshooting.
Diagnose and repair motors, breakers, switches, starters, relays, timers, photo/ultrasonic sensors, level and pressure switches, and power supplies
Diagnose and repair and program PLC and VFD control/related systems
Diagnose and improve hydraulic and pneumatic systems
Diagnose, repair and overhaul, automatic control valves, sensors, positioners, actuators, electrical AC/DC troubleshooting, and related systems
Maintain accurate records and data.
Education
High School Diploma and applicable technical knowledge required
Mechanical or Trade school degree preferred
Required Experience
5+ years overall work experience in a production manufacturing environment with a minimum of 4 -6 years experience in electrical maintenance, including troubleshooting, repair, and PM and knowledge of personal/process control computers, programmable logic controllers (PLC), and Networking devices. Allen Bradley experience preferred.
Knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Systems (CMMS) is a plus.
Knowledge and practice of NFPA 70E preferred.
Experience with high-speed packaging systems.
Experience and or knowledge of PLC's/HMI's, electrical protective devices.
Good math, oral/written communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to be flexible and shift priorities in a constantly changing, fast-paced work environment.
Self-starter, proactive.
Need to be service-oriented to support internal customers.
480v 3 phase knowledge required.
Desired Experience
Experience with VFD's, control systems (PLC's/HMI's), electrical protective devices with knowledge of calibration procedures and equipment, including Fluke and Transcat
Good math, oral/written communication, and interpersonal skills
Excellent troubleshooting ability, both electrical and mechanical
Experience with participative leadership and time management
Statistical process control and problem-solving skills required
Strong communication, interpersonal, and teambuilding skills
Proven analytical, planning, problem-solving, and project management skills

Knowledge of electrical power distribution
Skilled in developing and implementing PPM and troubleshooting programs and job aids
Experience in using PCs, knowledge of Computerized Management Maintenance Systems (CMMS) is a plus.
Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with all team peers and customers
Ability to endure excessive daily walking, standing, crouching, lifting (excess of 60lbs), twisting, climbing, to reach
Must be available to support shift, weekend, and holiday schedules as required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for long periods, climb flights of stairs, work from elevated areas, and wear eye protection, a respirator, and hearing protection when needed for the job.
Working Conditions
There is frequent exposure to warehouse/production environments subject to noise and cold/hot temperature changes.
