Summary of Job Duties:

The Administrative Specialist III in Mechanical Engineering provides administrative support to ensure efficient operations of the office and supports the administrative team by performing tasks related to organization and strong communication. Experience in event planning and execution and creation of social media posts for business is preferred. Additionally, the Administrative Specialist III supports departmental students and faculty through various tasks duties.

The ideal candidate for the position exhibits flexibility, excellent time management skills, and the ability to oversee multiple duties at any given time. Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.



Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:


  • The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma


  • At least one year of specialized training in business management, business education, or a related field


  • At least four years of experience in a specialized or a related field applicable to work performed


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Experience with event coordination and planning


  • Experience with the University of Arkansas software systems, such as Workday, UAConnect, Perceptive Content, and Advance


  • Experience in creating and maintaining social media posts for business


  • Demonstrated advanced Microsoft Office skills


  • Demonstrated strong verbal communication skills


  • Demonstrated excellent business writing and editing skills


Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:


  • Knowledge of common office software suites, i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Teams, Zoom

  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently in developing and carrying out responsibilities and problem-solving
