Job Description:

Major Responsibilities


  • Communicate daily with carriers, facilities, and Import/Export associates to manage all questions/emails received regarding Import/Export shipment.

  • Monitor Daily Container Report for all Essendant Facilities to determine which containers are delayed or need attention.

  • Monitor delivery and return of empty dates within the carrier allowed free time.

  • Maintain Essendant Facilities Yard List to mitigate accessorial fees and use of free time.

  • Review all carrier requests for accessorial fees per container.

  • Audit and approve or reject invoices from ocean and drayage carriers for payment through Intelligent Audit.

  • Maintain a list of all contact information for ocean carriers, drayage carriers and our facilities include an escalation path for unresolved issues.

  • Backup Export Coordinator following daily SOP’s to prepare purchase orders for use by our Export Facilities.

  • Work with Export Coordinator as necessary to prepare documents and monitor Export Facilities shipments.

  • Review Export KPI’s and create reports as requested.

  • Participates in related cross functional project teams where needed.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to work in a cross functional team environment

  • Must have an excellent interpersonal communication and writing skills

  • Ability to work independently

  • Attention to details and ability to multi-task, set priorities and exhibit excellent follow-up

  • Administrative and organizational skills required

  • Experience with Word, PowerPoint, Excel

Education and Experience


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience preferred

  • Minimum 1 years working experience in Import-Export compliance related activities
