About Quantitative Research

Quantitative Research (QR) is an expert quantitative modeling group in J.P. Morgan, as well as a leader in financial engineering, data analytics, statistical modeling and portfolio management. As a global team, QR partners with traders, marketers and risk managers across all products and regions, contributes to sales and client interaction, product innovation, valuation and risk management, inventory and portfolio optimization, electronic trading and market making, and appropriate financial risk controls.

Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager (PM) to join our team in New Jersey or Texas. The PM will be responsible for supporting the Wholesale Credit QR team on a variety of model development, regulatory compliance programs, as well as continuous improvement and optimization projects. Regulatory initiatives include compliance with CECL, IFRS 9, CCAR, Basel and Internal Ratings standards. The PM will oversee and provide E2E management, visibility into progress across Wholesale Credit QR, Stress and Allowance teams, ensuring delivery against program milestones and timely escalation of evolving risks. The successful candidate will be an entrepreneurial thinker, team player, self-manager with an ability to work with fragmented/incomplete data at times with a strong attention to detail.

About You


  • You demonstrate quantitative and problem-solving skills as well as research skills
  • You are highly skilled in Microsoft Applications, particularly PowerPoint, Project and Excel
  • You are comfortable working with large volumes of data (Organizing, analyzing, drawing conclusions etc)
  • You quickly grasp business concepts outside immediate area of expertise and adapt to rapidly changing business needs
  • You think strategically and creatively when faced with problems and opportunities. You always look for new ways of doing things;
  • You demonstrate good judgment - decision-making is your strong side
  • You're attentive to detail and easily adaptable
  • You're enthusiastic about knowledge sharing and collaboration
  • You have strong interpersonal skills - you listen and communicate in a direct, succinct manner
  • Your excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, can engage and influence partners and stakeholders; You are good at communicating concepts and ideas, also via documentation, and you are keen to defend their validity and tailor messages to different audiences

Desirables

  • BA/BS Degree
  • Markets experience, general trading concepts and terminology is useful to be familiar with
  • Prior Investment Banking or Financial Services experience
  • Management Consulting experience a plus
  • Experience creating project plans, managing tight timelines and escalating issues where necessary
  • Knowledge of financial regulations a plus (i.e. CCAR, CECL, IFRS 9)
  • Background in managing multiple & complex projects
  • Strong presentation skills; Ability to face-off with junior and senior stakeholders alike
  • Ability to take fuzzy requirements/concepts and run with little supervision
