Senior Buyer-Ingredients at JOHN B SANFILIPPO & SON, INC in Elgin, Illinois

Job Description:

• Responsible for managing inventory for ingredients within the Senior Buyer scope in coordination with other departments to insure proper inventory levels are maintained companywide and obsolete inventory is dispositioned on a timely basis.  Responsible for placing purchase orders and follow up to ensure quality and on-time deliveries.


• Participates in sourcing and negotiation for ingredients within the Senior Buyer’s scope to ensure uninterrupted supply and competitive pricing under the direction of the Senior Director, Procurement. Collaborates with other departments on new ingredient sourcing, new product development and sample requests.


• Tracks and communicates industry price trends and competitive situations to senior management.


• Ensures contracts with vendors are documented and consistent with corporate objectives.


• Works on special projects and assignments as necessary.
