Job Description:

Position Summary


Perform functions to coordinate inbound and outbound communication within assigned sales areas, or for DRO, Finescope and OEM products with customers, distributors and MAC Sales employees.  Provide administrative support to management.


Essential Job Responsibilities



  1. Provide pre- and post-sales assistance to distributors and end-users. Supply general product information, quote list prices, take orders, check inventory, track delivery and order status, expedite deliveries, and resolve routine problems.  Provide information to internal staff as requested.

  2. Establish and maintain a database of account information.

  3. Monitor sales results and activity of distributors. Prepare reports for management.

  4. Maintain records on distribution, quotations, non-disclosure agreements and other information.

  5. Inform distributors of new products and promotions.

  6. Coordinate with other departments to assure availability of inventory, resolve problems and expedite deliveries.

  7. Maintain pricing records and quotation templates and periodically audit to assure accuracy.

  8. Monitor inventory records of assigned products and provide periodic status reports to management.

  9. Assist management to develop sales reports, plans, quotas and budgets.

  10. Facilitate sales and assist with determining proper inventory levels as appropriate.

  11. Act as customer/distributor liaison between the MAC Sales Department and TSD group.

  12. Participate in planning and implementing new product introductions.

  13. Maintain quotation templates for all assigned product groups.

  14. Analyze customer needs and recommend appropriate products and/or services. Coordinate activities and follow up with customers to ensure that customer expectations and requirements are met or exceeded.

  15. Maintain technical proficiency within scope of product line. Stay informed on Mitutoyo products, market trends and competitor activities.  Assist in the communication of new developments to sales management, marketing and TSD.

  16. Prepare and submit required reports in a timely manner.

  17. Attend regional meetings and participate in sales training and product knowledge sessions as required.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position. 


Monday – Friday 8:30AM-5:00PM


Travel: Up to 25% travel is required with an average of up to 5 hours driving per day.


Education and Experience:  Education equivalent of four year degree; additional specialized training. Three years’ experience.


Reports to:  Vice President of Distributed Products Sales
