Responsibilities
Lead a highly responsive team of simulation engineers in simulating and validating complex material handling automation solutions with clients, sales, product and software management. The Simulation Manager will work in Dematic Corporation’s Solution Development department in any of our US offices. This position will report directly to the Simulation, Modeling and Algorithms Sr. Manager.
What You Will Do
DEFINE & DRIVE OBJECTIVES
Researching and identifying market trends and simulation technologies that are key to a customer’s success and creating competitive advantage for Dematic
Creating and executing strategies, tactics, budgets and KPIs to fulfill the assigned teams vision, mission, objectives and annual business plan
MANAGE WORK
Evaluating, dividing, assigning and monitoring the assigned teams simulation work, while prioritizing Must Win projects and leveraging scrum methodologies for iterative simulating.
Anticipating, preventing and driving problem-solving efforts for project, team and process performance.
MEASURE QUALITY & PERFORMANCE
Assuring the best solutions are presented to customers by validating their simulated performance and providing animations and quantitative outputs.
Measuring, reporting and holding team accountable for performance in % accuracy in throughput, % on time delivery of simulation, % team utilization and quality deliverables.
DEVELOP THE TEAM
Coaching, mentoring, hiring and training a team while consistently modeling Dematic and KION values and leadership competencies
Planning, requesting and justifying team expansion and training investment aligned to business needs
COMMUNICATE VISION, VALUE & NEEDS
Presenting the vision to the team, motivating them to be the industry leaders by living out our Dematic mission
Presenting value to Sales and customers in the recommended solutions and the validated planned scenarios for their operation, as a trusted advisor, while communicating our capacity and capability to Sales
Qualifications
LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCE & BEHAVIOURS
5+ years of directly applicable management experience
Excellent at coaching and leading a team of simulation engineers
Excellent written and oral communication skills, including an ability to communicate with the senior leadership team, customers, and internal stakeholders
Transitions between meetings and tasks with purpose, determination and joy
INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE
8+ years of logistics and automation experience
Must be extremely knowledgeable with the innerworkings of a Distribution Center
