We are looking for an Aviation Associate Sales Manager 1 who is highly motivated professional will be responsible for assisting department Vice President, Directors, and Sales Managers in daily activities required to increase revenues and market share through the sale and support of Garmin products and services. This position will encompass daily interaction with various internal and external stakeholders, as well as being an alternate point of contact for many of our partners. Some travel is required as this individual will assist sales at major tradeshows and periodic regional events, as well as support onsite meetings with customers and industry partners.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Demonstrates at least some limited knowledge of the aviation industry and Garmin aviation products.
Become the recognized alternate Garmin point of contact for OEM partners and be a customer advocate for them within our organization
Support Sales Managers and Directors with development and execution of proposal responses, product margin and program analysis, and contract execution with periodic oversight from management or the team
Demonstrates ability to support Sales Managers and Directors by producing monthly and quarterly sales reports, rebate programs, and shipset tracking
Manage monthly, quarterly, yearly and long-term planning tools to facilitate management review and direction
Support the Director, OEM Sales with managing the monthly, quarterly and annual OEM forecast, and provide reports highlighting the changes of forecast data compared to previous revisions
Writes template pricing letters for the OEM Sales team to adjust for their respective OEM’s, so Garmin can provide a consistent commercial message
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
Builds and presents product presentations demonstrating basic knowledge of Garmin products and showing a good level of comfort presenting in front of customers
Demonstrates ability to provide timely trip notes after customer visits with a good level of detail; submits weekly reports with the appropriate detail and on time
Be the recognized “Point Person” for major trade shows owning the coordination and preparation for those designated shows; also assist the sales team in preparing for smaller regional shows
Cultivate successful internal and external customer relationships that focus on mutual benefit, maximizing the partnership potential, and driving to consistently meet and exceed customer expectations
Participate in trade shows to demonstrate products and articulate competitive benefits of Garmin products and systems
Identify opportunities for expanding our product line to serve customer needs
Contribute customer, market, and product knowledge to internal cross-functional teams
Work with all necessary departments on new product introduction. Ensure that all special requirements for the aviation group are implemented/adhered to
Remain current with regard to changes in policies, procedures and product offerings and continually expand personal technical, system and competitive product knowledge
Occasionally visit Garmin customers and partners with Sales Managers
Assist with special projects as assigned
Project Management as assigned
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college / university or 5 years of equivalent field relevant experience for successful performance of the essential functions of this job description
Minimum of 1 year of Garmin experience or sales experience
Private Pilot (Instrument Rating a plus), aviation technical background, or proficiently demonstrate the ability sell the added benefits of Garmin aviation products to customers
Must demonstrate a proven track record in meeting and achieving goals
Must be team and detail oriented, possess a positive attitude, and a strong passion and enthusiasm for customer satisfaction
Ability to present to large groups
Must have the ability to work proactively and effectively with minimal supervision
Ability to prioritize, multi-task and stay organized in a flexible, fast paced and challenging environment
Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Must possess demonstrated analytical skills to critically evaluate information gathered
Superior organizational and analytical skills with keen attention to detail and quality – must take great pride in the work you produce.
Particular emphasis and expertise using Microsoft Office, specifically Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook
Must possess the ability to maintain flexibility to travel (25% of time or greater)
