Overview

The PCB Designer converts customer specifications and/or electrical engineering concepts of moderate complexity to practical RF, Digital or Mixed Technology PCB design solutions. This position is a contract role with potential to convert to a FT Employee.


Responsibilities


  • Demonstrates a mastery of CAD applications, the candidate will primarily design RF printed circuit boards using PCB Design software.

  • Assimilates the schematic, parts list, engineering concept, customer requirements and other data as required to plan a design layout.

  • Designs work requiring creative thinking, in addition to knowledge of basic engineering principles, design practices and manufacturing methods/procedures.

  • Completes design layouts as required to document engineering and design decisions as well as provide a basis for completion of detail drawings.

  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as required: ECR/ECO generation/implementation, Bill of Material generation and the use of our data management tool PLM.


Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:


  • High School Diploma or GED

  • 1 year technically related experience as a Designer

  • 1 year working knowledge of IPC specifications for design and manufacturability of PCB.

  • 1 year working knowledge of ASME Y-14 Drawing and Dimensioning Standards. Specifically ASME Y 14.100 Engineering Drawing practices and ASME Y-14.5 Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).

  • All applicants must be a U.S Citizen or U.S Person as defined by ITAR (a lawful permanent resident or someone who is a protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C.1324b(a)(3)). In order to be eligible for positions requiring a Security Clearance, you must be a US Citizen.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Associate's Degree in a technical field

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Designer.

  • A minimum of 2years of working knowledge of IPC-2221 specifications for design and manufacturability of PCB.

  • A minimum of 2 years of a working knowledge of ASME Y-14 Drawing and Dimensioning Standards. Specifically ASME Y 14.100 Engineering Drawing practices and ASME Y-14.5 Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).

  • A minimum of 2 years of work in a defense contractor or military facility.

  • Active DOD clearance
