The Paint Operator is responsible for providing a durable, high quality, and aesthetically pleasing paint coating on all required products.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Confirm to all safety guidelines while performing duties and operating equipment
Identify work to be performed via SAP or MII work center priority
Locate and retrieve components requiring paint
Prepare components for paint; paint prep includes wiping down and degreasing all components with lacquer thinner
Set up paint equipment; mix and thin paint in accordance with SOP, load pods with paint, hook up electrostatic leads, and adjust spray gun for proper pattern
Apply primer coat to all components, as required
Apply paint coat to all components
Remove finished components/assemblies from paint booth and stage for drying
Perform tool changes, as necessary
Maintain daily housekeeping
Other duties, as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
HS Diploma or GED, required
Between 3-6 months prior experience working with industrial wet paint application
Ability to safely operate equipment (material handling and painting equipment)
Knowledge about types of paint, primer, thinners, epoxies, etc.
Basic math and computer skills
Knowledge of electrostatic and air assisted painting equipment
Strong attention to detail and high level of concentration to ensure quality work
Physical Demands:
Must lift up to 50 lbs. on a routine basis
Standing for a minimum of 8 hours per day
Continuous lifting, kneeling, pulling, bending, etc.
