Front End Developer

FlightSafety International is seeking interested candidates for a Front End Developer role locatednear DFW Airport. This positionis based at our Operations Center, and will work cooperatively throughout all levels of FlightSafety teams to successfully support FlightSafety's vision to be the world's premier aviation training company; known for its outstanding customer service, superior quality training and products, operational excellence and talented Teammates.

Essential Functions:

• Assist in the analysis and design phases of new and/or existing software development initiatives.
  
  


• Develop, test and maintain client-side web applications and utilities used by Learning Centers and FlightSafety International Customers.

• Upgrade existing software tools and/or applications based on user feedback.

• Coordinate with and support teams in troubleshooting, preparation of specifications, procedures, user guides, work instructions, etc.

• Estimate and document development hours.

• Adhere to team guidelines for project and task tracking.

• Adhere to project workflows, timelines and milestones.

• Adhere to written guidelines for source code management.

• Monitor, review, and coordinate outsourced vendor work.

• Provide technical support to vendors, internal teams, and Learning Centers

Documentation/Report Activities:

• Create application specifications, procedures, user guides, work instructions, etc.
  
  


• Develop logic and process flowcharts.
  
  


• Prepare charts and diagrams to assist in problem analysis and submit recommendations for solutions.
  
  


• Assist in the evaluation of product selection, production planning, and resource management.

Mentor/Train Activities:

• Mentor, provide assistance, instruction, and direction to Software Developers.
  
  


• Prepare training presentations used to train Courseware Support and Learning Centre personnel in the use of tools, standards and procedures; organize presentations into logical learning sequence(s).
  
  


• Provide classroom training for Courseware Support and Learning Centre personnel and vendors in the use of the tools, templates and new techniques used to facilitate any new program(s).
  
  
  Education and Experience Requirements:
  
  

Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) from a four-year college or university preferred, and five (5) years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience; equivalency years' experience substitution must be in related field.

• Strong proficiency with front-end web technologies; HTML/HTML5, CSS, JavaScript.


• Strong proficiency with JavaScript Libraries; Angular, React, Vue.js, etc


• Strong proficiency with Stylesheets and Stylesheet languages; CSS3, Sass, Less.

• Strong knowledge of code source control; Git.


• Familiarity with implementation of RESTful APIs.


• Familiarity with agile methodology and tools; Azure DevOps.


• Familiarity with software testing; test design and test automation.


• Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud Suite.

• Fluency in English. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.


• Aviation terminology/background, a plus.
