About the Position

VHB's growing Charlotte,NC team is seeking a talented GIS Planner to join our Planning team.

Responsibilities

• Use and create geospatial transportation data.


• Create text and spreadsheet documents and manipulate data.


• Perform field work taking measurements, pictures, deploying cameras, visually confirming community resources and transportation facility operations.


• Effectively interact with VHB staff to advance projects in a timely manner.

Skills and Attributes

• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.


• Experience using various ArcGIS platforms.


• Ability to independently perform multiple tasks and interact appropriately and positively with coworkers.


• Self-motivated with attention to detail.


• Familiarity with transportation planning and/or traffic engineering principles and resources.


• Interested in improving multi-modal transportation options for communities across North Carolina


• Has a personal vehicle and may need to drive to sites to perform fieldwork.


• Team oriented with strong capability to work independently.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an undergraduate or master's degree in planning, geography, civil engineering, or related field.
