A Jet Engine Powerplant Engineer job is currently available at Belcan in Windsor, CT. This is a full time, direct job with full benefits. Great matching candidates will have an engineering degree and at least one year of experience as a powerplant or project engineer within the commercial jet engine aftermarket industry. You will be preparing shop visit maintenance & work scope instructions and managing revisions for a commercial jet engine maintenance, repair, and overhaul program (MRO).

Jet Engine Powerplant Engineer job duties:
* Participate in customer meetings, establish action items, and drive task completion with other functional engineering and design groups.
* Provide shop visit technical support in order to limit work scope expansion.
* Evaluate hardware teardown conditions for potential, limit increases, part repair development and/or part redesign.
* Provide timely resolution of technical questions/issues the shop may have on specific engine or customer/program requirements.
* Work with the engine shop network to perform optimized work scopes and reduce cost. Provide technical recommendations to improve shop maintenance and lowering engine maintenance cost.
* Analyze shop visit invoices to determine shop visit and time on wing cost drivers that require action to lower maintenance cost

Qualifications:
* Engineering Degree: Mechanical, Aerospace, or equivalent
* One to three years of work experience within the aerospace industry, preferably commercial engines and/or MRO (internship experience considered)
* Project Engineering Skills: Attention to detail, excellent verbal & written communication
* Legal authorization to work in the US required: US Citizenship
Desired but not required skills:
* Experience with commercial engines: V2500, GP7000, PW4000, PW2000, CFM56
* Experience in Reliability and Safety Analysis, FMEA, FMECA
