Job Overview:

The Digital Workplace team is looking for a Sr. Engineer (AVP) in Messaging and Collaboration to drive the modernization and maturation of our messaging and collaboration platforms.

This role will have shared responsibility for the collaboration and communication platforms with a primary focus on Microsoft Teams/Skype/Lync and Exchange Online and on premise.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of designing, architecting and executing migrations into the O365 ecosystem, specifically Exchange and Teams.

Responsibilities:


  • Participate in the design, architecture and execution of our Exchange Online/O365 infrastructure and migration

  • Shared Ownership of the Messaging (MS Exchange) and Collaboration (Skype and Teams) platforms, including:

    • Full lifecycle management of on premise and cloud Exchange environments for both Home Office and external customers

    • Risk, vulnerability and performance management

    • Collaboration on the vision and strategic direction of the end user collaboration and messaging offerings for internal and external clients

    • Integration and interoperation with external vendor A/V, telephony and conferencing solutions

    • Full, detailed documentation of our on premise and cloud environments



  • Partner with our Innovation Lab to identify, research, evaluate and deliver solutions based on emerging trends and tools

  • Manage service escalations (L3+) and engage service providers for consistent service delivery

  • Drive the adoption of the broader M365 ecosystem

  • Partner across teams to successfully deliver outcomes on-time and on-budget, including technology evolution and M&A integrations

  • Managing the coordinated training, release and adoption of new platforms, initially MS Teams, including:

    • Migration timing

    • Communication plans

    • Escalated support requests for high-touch individuals (EVP+)

Requirements:


  • 7+ years of experience in Enterprise level Microsoft Exchange environments (5000+ mailboxes)

  • Extensive, proven experience deploying and managing Microsoft centric messaging and collaboration platforms, including:

    • Complex on premise MS Exchange deployments

    • Exchange Online (single and multi-tenant)

    • Migrations to MS Teams and Exchange Online



  • Hands-on expertise working in complex infrastructure environments in a highly regulated industry

  • Extensive experience using PowerShell for environment management

  • Hands-on expertise working in complex infrastructure environments in a highly regulated industry

  • Ability to understand and design a large enterprise-level solution based on technical, application and business requirements

Core Competencies:


  • Experience reporting project status up to senior leadership

  • Ability to communicate and present information to all levels within the organization

Preferences:

  • Four-year degree in a related field, technical certifications, or equivalent work experience
