This position works closely with the Executive Director of Alumni Relations on the overall strategy in the area while serving as the lead staff member in areas of assessment and volunteer engagement. As part of the leadership team for Alumni Relations, this position plays an important role in the strategy, execution, and tracking of all area goals and objectives.
Duties and Responsibilities
In partnership with the Executive Director, manage the overall goals for the department of Alumni Relations.
Leads the regular maintenance and updating to the area goals and strategic planning.
Serve as the leader and key contact for research, benchmarking, and assessment within the area and ensure that all staff are aware of how this information should inform our decisions.
Serve as the contact, along with the Executive Director, for the National Alumni Advisory Board (NAAB) and the Alumni Leadership Initiative (ALI).
Work as the direct liaison with professional schools at Loyola as it relates to their alumni engagement initiative and partner in ways to increase engagement.
*Lead the staff retention initiative for the area by working with the team in developing, and executing on, their professional development goals and the staff recognition program.
Lead the annual reporting process culminating in a comprehensive document that can be shared with donors and/or volunteers.
Supervise the Associate Director of Leadership Development/Boards and the Associate Director of Engagement.
Support the work done, along with deliverables, for assigned affinity boards and increase membership in boards and activity year-after-year.
In collaboration with Alumni Relations team, identify new prospects to get involved as volunteer leaders throughout the year and meet with at least 50 current volunteers or prospect throughout the year (visits can be virtual).
Create new and innovative volunteer opportunities that align with the mission and strategic plan of the University.
Develop strong partnership with volunteer leaders that foster trust and collaboration.
Serve as a direct contact for a grouping of schools and units at Loyola University
Conduct at least 50 visits with currently engaged and/or prospects annually (visits can be done virtually).
Serve as a leader of the alumni relations area in the absence of the Executive Director.
Minimum Education and/or Work Experience
Bachelor's degree and at least 6-8 years of experience working in association management, higher education, or management.
Demonstration of 3-5 years of tenure and longevity at previous employers is required, a history of promotions within organizations is preferred. Individuals with a track record of two years or less in previous roles will not be considered.
Proof of COVID vaccination will be required prior to employment date.

Master's degree in non-profit management, higher education, or other related field. 8-10 years of experience working in association management, higher education, or management.
CAE credential preferred, but not required.
