What will your role be?

In the Services Software Senior Manager role, you are responsible for a team of developers and technical directors. The team works on developing solutions for 3DEXCITE's CGI technology and integrations with 3rd party solutions. The goal of the team is to provide development and critical production support of all internally developed and integrated applications, improve overall application efficiency, and advance the application development capabilities of the organization. You will work as an individual contributor in regards to personally designing, developing, and implementing applications, techniques and processes for use in third-party and in-house systems, and across multiple projects and departments, as well as providing guidance, direction and mentorship to the team. You possess strong technical and communication skills, experience in application development methodologies, workflows, trends and best practices.

The challenges ahead

• Work with department representatives to develop new, and support existing, applications, tools, techniques and workflows required to achieve specific project goals


• Work with users to troubleshoot and fix critical production issues, which may include problems with developed applications but also with CGI-related processes and objects (models, rigs, effects, animation, rendering and compositing)


• Research and advocate in the adoption of innovative new techniques, commercial or open-source tools and libraries, standards, and best-practices to help maintain industry relevance and the highest possible quality and efficiency


• Contribute to and maintain documentation, examples and training materials, where needed


• Support in creation and deployment of artist-created tools and their adoption into the wider pipeline; verifying quality, stability, and adherence to Application Development and Studio practices and guidelines

Your key success factors?

• A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred, Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering and/or Graphics field is desirable


• A minimum of 3 years of experience managing or supervising a team


• A minimum of 4 years of experience developing solutions for CGI, Realtime rendering engines or similar technologies


• Requires experience in software architecture, optimization and debugging techniques


• Requires experience coding in Python and one or more of the following languages (C#, C++)


• Requires understanding of Object Oriented Programming


• Requires knowledge of server side software development technologies (ASP.NET, REST, Web Services)


• Requires experience in relational database systems including querying data using SQL. (Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server is a plus)

PREFERRED

• Production experience in computer animation, visual effects, or game industry


• Front end development using Java or Javascript
