The Role:



The Security Operations Specialist will monitor and control physical security, employees, and property worldwide. The position uses a variety of tools to perform security functions that include electronic global access control systems, alarm monitoring systems, traffic control systems, and video management systems. In addition, the Security Operations Specialist assists the HSSE department with managing risk. The Security Operations Specialist responds and coordinates efforts related to emergencies and takes appropriate actions as needed.



What You Will Do:




Communications (25%)



  • Answers incoming phone and radio calls from external and internal customers. Using available resources, route calls in the appropriate manner

  • Answers the "Emergency 400" line and promptly coordinate emergency response efforts effectively

  • Under supervision, receives and responds to calls from global employees regarding incidents that are or may affect business continuity or operations and communicate with executive management as needed and play active role in recovery process






Facility Monitoring (25%)



  • With coaching, conducts facility patrols at Panduit locations. Check all interior and exterior areas to ensure critical doors are secure. Monitor areas for safety hazards, employees for safe working habits, environmental issues (such as spills), and act needed. Visually check the entire premises (building and property) upkeep including water pipes, gas lines, light fixtures, HVAC, hardware, doors, windows, walls, fences, and similar

  • Monitors operations globally using all available security systems and taking appropriate action as needed

  • Under supervision, conducts ongoing review of multiple systems and sources to detect potential risks worldwide

  • Under supervision, utilizes electronic video surveillance system and access control system conduct patrols of all facilities worldwide. Contacts local personnel to investigate any abnormalities

  • Monitors the speed of vehicles in the parking lots

  • Performs preventative maintenance checks on life safety equipment, parking lot lights, signage, and similar

  • Under supervision, completes the initial investigation related to accidents/incidents

  • Under supervision, uses manual and electronic access control systems to lock, unlock, arm, disarm, enable, and disable doors, alarms, and various inputs

  • Utilizes electronic visitor management system to sign in/sign out visitors and contractors at Panduit locations






Systems, Services, and Documentation (25%)



  • Under supervision, utilizes physical security information management systems, documents all actions taken on alarms, record all patrol information, and changes of duty status. Write "Incident Reports" when required

  • Under supervision, perform front line, Tier 1 triage, routing and tracking of a variety of IT related inquiries, incidents and other issues during non-US business hours

  • Utilizes Panduit's intranet to obtain policy/procedures, MSDS data, emergency contact and other pertinent information

  • Creates badges for new hires, existing employees, visitors, and contractors.

  • Writes service requests as needed

  • Assists with coverage of front desk and receiving dock as needed

  • Ensures compliance with all applicable policies and procedures






Emergencies (25%)



  • Under supervision coordinates the emergency preparedness and response plans globally

  • Under supervision, coordinates the efforts of the emergency response team, security personnel, employees, management, and outside agencies

  • Monitors news and weather for emerging hazards to building and/or employees and take appropriate actions

  • Under supervision, proactively monitors and analyze world events and threat intelligence that can affect business continuity and/or travelling Panduit staff and communicate to executive management

  • Uses two-way radios to contact other security personnel, brigade members, onsite supervisors, and maintenance personnel

  • Pages out the emergency brigade during emergency situations

  • Uses the Panduit intranet to obtain policy/procedures, MSDS data, emergency contact and other pertinent information






What You Will Bring:




  • Required Degree: High School diploma required


  • Years of Experience: 1-3 years previous security operations experience


  • Required Certifications and/or Licenses: Must have valid driver's license

  • Commercial awareness

  • Critical thinking regarding risk assessment and the likelihood of adverse outcomes

  • Self-starting and self-finishing

  • Competent in problem solving, team building, planning and decision making

  • Excellent leadership and management skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills

  • Excellent organizational and follow-up skills
