We are looking for a dynamic and passionate Clinical Laboratory Scientist to join our team! What You'll Do The clinical laboratory scientist is responsible for performing a variety of analyses, validating results, and reporting results. The clinical laboratory scientist is responsible for collecting specimens, running and evaluating quality control material, cleaning and maintaining analyzers and other equipment. These responsibilities are carried out with appropriate understanding and application of human physiology and the priniciples of clinical laboratory sciences coupled with the ideals of quality improvement. The successful candidate will be able to: Performs tests authorized by laboratory director and within scope of practice, training and skills Adheres to laboratory procedures for specimen collection, handling and processing, test analyses, reporting and maintaining records of patient test results. Test and maintain records that demonstrate that proficiency testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient specimens as close as possible. Adheres to the laboratory's quality control policies, documents all quality control activities. Maintains equipment in proper working order. Follow the laboratory's established policies and procedures whenever test systems are not within the laboratory's established acceptable levels of performance and document all corrective action. Uses Information Systems to obtain and record data and results. Follows and maintains competency on policies and standard operating procedures Be capable of identifying issues that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results and correct the identified issue. What You'll Bring Baccalaureate Degree in Medical Technology, Medical/Clinical Laboratory Science, or health related field and completion of a clinical laboratory internship required. A HEW certificate may be substituted for the specified degree. Certification by ASCP, MLS (ASCP)CM preferred, MT (AMT), CLT (HEW), MLT (ASCP)CM or registry eligible may also be considered. Registry eligible candidates must successfully complete Board of Registry ASCP or AMT examination within first 6 months of employment.
