JOB TITLE:

MANAGER, TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Manager, Training and Development is responsible for improving the productivity of the organization's employees. This position assesses plant-wide developmental needs to drive training initiatives and identifies and arranges suitable training solutions for employees. This position actively searches, creatively designs, and implements effective methods to educate, enhance performance and recognize performance.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Conducts annual training and development needs assessment

  • Develops training and development programs and objectives and ensures that training milestones and goals are met

  • Conducts or facilitates required and recommended training sessions

  • Obtains and /or develops effective training materials utilizing a variety of media

  • Trains and coaches managers, supervisors and others involved in employee development efforts

  • Plans, organizes, facilitates and orders supplies for employee development and training events

  • Develops and maintains organizational communications to ensure employees have knowledge of training and development events and resources

  • Conducts follow-up studies of all completed training to evaluate and measure results

  • Collaborates with vendors and third-party training providers to arrange employee registration for and participation in outside training programs

  • Modifies training and development programs as needed

  • Exemplifies the desired culture and philosophies of the organization

  • Works effectively as a team member with other members of management and the HR staff







Job Requirements



MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:


  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, or a related discipline

  • Five years of experience designing and implementing employee training and development programs in a manufacturing environment

  • Technical skills with a thorough knowledge of Excel, Access, Power Point and Word

  • Professional Certification Credential in Learning and Development preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:


  • While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and may be required to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

  • The team member may lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus.

WORKING CONDITIONS:


  • Generally, works in a typical office setting but will be required to perform some job duties in a plant environment

  • While performing the duties of this job in the plant, the team member may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicular traffic

  • The team member may be exposed to a wide range of temperatures in the plant

  • The noise level in the plant is frequently loud
