• Basic project management skills Role Description Summary
Newpark Site & Access Solution's Technical Service group is seeking a qualified engineer for a multi-functional role encompassing field technical support, product troubleshooting, and product design and modifications. This key visible role will impact customer satisfaction and operational support while enhancing applications engineering, product functioning, and new applications. The position reports to the Technical Service Manager and requires interacting with field professionals, manufacturing, sales, customers, and R&D staff to overall reinforce our Technology brand, both internally in our business as well as externally within our industry and customers.
Essential Functions
• Assist in engineering and technical support to evaluate project details for best product usage, including site evaluations and layout designs.
• Laboratory and field studies and testing
• Provide mechanical & civil design input
• Provide electrical input for safe operational designs
• Process evaluations and improvement approaches
• Failure mode analysis, root cause investigation, and preventative action
• Provide technical assistance in field applications to internal operations and sales team, as well as existing and potential customers.
• Field implementation of existing and developing Technology
• Receive and understand specifications, project details, and design constraints
• Pre-project planning, assistance in project execution, post project reporting
• Recommendations on appropriate designs, materials, and techniques
• Assist in engineering and technical input for Product Improvement efforts, New Product Development projects, and R&D efforts.
• Mechanical, civil, and electrical design and/or prototype testing
• Product understanding and best practice implementation
• Measures and analyzes product and process performance
• Use statistical analysis for data-based decision making
• Presents results in clear and concise reports
• Provide input and update/create engineering documentation including engineering drawings, CAD models, engineering bulletins, technical reports, and scientific studies.
• Assessment of Market Trends, Competing Products, and New Opportunities.
• Any other duties or special projects in the technical arena to address changing business needs.
Education & Experience Requirements Bachelors Degree in Engineering or educational equivalent.  1 year experience. Basic application of analytical skills. Intermediate verbal and written communication skills. Intermediate problem-solving skills. Knowledge of general principles, concepts, theories, and practices of applicable discipline. Position Summary Works in any of the following disciplines: Quality, Software, Mechanical, R&D, Petroleum, Civil, Electrical, Chemical or Reservoir. Under limited supervision, recommends appropriate designs, materials, and/or techniques to carry out a specified sequence of standard engineering tasks. Receives specifications and design constraints from team leader. May provides product support, manufacturing support, and failure analysis.
