(Senior) Business Systems Analyst Opportunity Overview



Analyzes business functions, processes and procedures to provide solution recommendations, including system specifications and business process implication, based on business objectives, business requirements and cost effectiveness. Collaborates with others in system development and design which may include database, report and interface design. May assist in development of test plans and coordination or performance of testing as well as triage of issues, anomalies, opportunities to improve solutions. Provides analysis and recommendations on problems of moderate scope and complexity. Follow professional standards and department guidelines receiving general instructions on new work. Builds knowledge and experience in area of expertise.


As a (Senior) Business Systems Analyst with Banner Bank you will have the opportunity to:



  • Responsible for researching, defining, analyzing, and implementing IT projects for integration to third party solutions and for in house development initiatives. Identify and document scope of software changes for one or more systems to meet end business line needs. Identify "as is" state (manual or automated) and define "to be" end solution requirements.

  • Collaborate with business partners, IT partners and delivery team members to identify, refine and document requirements in the form of epics, features and user stories with clear acceptance criteria or in the form of user cases, business requirements, functional requirements, UI specifications and business rules; understand process analysis and cost versus benefit analysis; and apply these skills routinely follow industry standard methodologies and guidelines to write technical and support documentation independently; develop and maintain knowledge of IT systems; work with business stakeholders to analyze and document business processes to identify pain points and opportunities for efficiencies through technology enablement

  • Use system tools to extract data for validation of system requirements; perform and assist with data analysis to define business, process, functional, and data requirements. Identify and resolve conflicting requirements; perform gap analysis when needed; aggregate, track, analyze and generate reports; perform or assist with basic data mapping

  • May support end users in preparing, documenting and testing scenarios; use guidance from others to create test scripts and test cases in collaboration with team; may provide direction and support for UAT

  • Provide input on requirements priorities and dependencies.

  • Identify improvement opportunities through analysis and understanding of business domain and technology solutions; collaborate with delivery team to continuously improve both the team and the solution



QUALIFICATIONS



Education & Certifications




  • Associate's Degree in IT, MIS, Finance, Business or related field required

  • Bachelor's Degree in IT, MIS, Finance, Business or related field preferred



Experience



Business Analyst



  • 3 or more years Business Analysis experience in the banking, finance, or insurance industry with exposure to analytics and project efforts for defining system modifications and process changes required.

  • Experience in multiple methodologies and with helping to establish and mature analysis discipline required.


Senior Business Analyst



  • 7 or more years Business Analysis experience in the banking, finance, or insurance industry with exposure to analytics and project efforts for defining system modifications and process changes required.

  • Experience in multiple methodologies and with helping to establish and mature analysis discipline required.

  • Possesses high level understanding of the business strategies, needs and process within aligned domain. Ability to dissect information and organize, translate and cross-reference requirements. Basic problem solving and root cause analysis skills.

  • Collaborates effectively within a delivery team; considered a team player by their peers. Ability to facilitate small group discussions to achieve defined outcomes.

  • Experience defining software requirements for low complexity products/solutions; fundamental understanding of analytical tools, relational databases and software applications; Proven ability to analyze low complexity data and business processes

  • Ability to effectively and professionally communicate, both verbally and in writing to business stakeholders and IT team members; ability to explain technical details to non-technical users
