Patient Care Assistant II, Obstetrics Acute, Per Diem/Nights at Orange Coast Memorial Medical Center in Fountain Valley, California

The Patient Care Assistant II is an unlicensed caregiver working under the direction of the Physician/Registered Nurse. This position is responsible for supporting the Obstetrics Acute Department environment to maintain smooth, effective communication between healthcare practitioners, departments, patients, and visitors. The Patient Care Assistant II position is accountable for the accurate maintenance of the patient medical record, including computer order entry. In addition, this role is accountable for patient admission, transfer, discharge flow processes, and recognizes abnormal fetal heart rate tracings. Experience

• One year acute care experience as nursing assistant or nursing student who has completed the first semester of nursing school preferred.
• Computer, internet, order entry and word processing experience preferred.
• Proficient in medical terminology.

• High School Diploma or equivalency.
• Current American Heart Association Basic Cardiac Life Support Card.
