Job Description Summary



The Inventory Control Clerk is responsible for daily cycle counts of the production line inventory location, maintaining accurate inventory levels. Works on assignments that are moderately difficult, requiring judgment in resolving issues or in making recommendations and normally receives little instruction on daily work, general instructions on newly introduced assignments.



Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities



  • Conducts daily cycle counts and associated reconciliations, including weighs or counts materials, marks materials with identifying information, maintains inventory records such as filing count and a log of discrepancy or using computer to enter records.

  • Communicates and resolves discrepancies with warehouse and other production departments.

  • Conducts off-site inventory counts as required

  • Performs ad hoc soft inventory analysis.

  • Updating charts and graphs to reflect monthly inventory accuracy

  • Accurately count inventory on hand in conformance with SOX and inventory procedures.

  • Develop and implement improvement initiatives that meet/exceed metric goals.

  • Assist IC and Operations Management with root cause analysis and error resolution.

  • Monitor, analyze and report performance relative to inventory accuracy and control.

  • Work closely with Inventory Control Analysts to document issues and improve processes.

  • Work with IC and Operations Management to improve relationships and jointly address operational issues.

  • Follows standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained.

  • Has substantial understanding of the job and applies knowledge and skills to complete a wide range of tasks.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.




Education and Experience Requirements



  • High school diploma or GED preferred or equivalent years of industry experience.

  • 2-3 years of inventory, warehousing, and/or shipping/receiving related experience.

  • Familiar with SAP, Microsoft Word and Excel.

  • Manufacturing inventory knowledge and experience are required.

  • A strong work ethic, strong problem-solving skills (including identification, fact gathering and recommendation of solutions).
