Job Description:

WTVR, Scripps' CBS affiliate in Richmond, Virginia is recruiting for a Videographer/Editor to join its team and work directly with our lifestyle show, Virginia This Morning. The Videographer/Editor is responsible for the shooting, editing, and developing creative for sponsored and editorial content, advertorials and commercials. This person will capture and edit visual content for multiple platforms, will be responsible for operating LIVE field production gathering equipment, including but not limited to video camera, video editing equipment, and mobile cell-based LIVE field unit.

What You Will Do:


  • Capture and edit visual content for multiple platforms


  • Operate LIVE field-production equipment including cell-based, mobile field unit


  • Works in tandem with clients, talent, account executives, and producers to create and develop sponsored lifestyle content and stories including developing ideas and writing scripts for client sponsored projects.


  • Shoot and edit non-linear video for wide range of station projects, including: commercials, Sales presentations, programming, content for streaming and interactive.


  • Drive company vehicle on various assignments.


  • Maintain Lifestyle Content Video Library.


  • Work with Local Programming and Creative Services to organize and administer the scheduling of all shooting and editing for the department. 


  • Work with digital based storage and servers.


  • Preparing and posting content and descriptions of segments to station website daily.


  • Preparing and posting content and descriptions of features to social accounts daily.


  • Perform other duties as assigned


What You Will Bring:

• 2+ years experience as a videographer and editor preferred 

What You Will Need:


  • Proficiency with lighting, videography (using a variety of camera formats) and computer based non-linear editing.


  • Proficiency using the Adobe Creative Cloud Suite of programs.


  • Proficiency with live field-production equipment.


  • Knowledge and demonstration of creativity, editorial judgment, customer service and client relations.


  • Knowledge of and proficiency in posting content to web platforms.


  • Able to work efficiently under multiple deadlines on a daily basis 


  • Must demonstrate adaptability while excelling with multi-tasking and operating within a fast paced environment while collaborating with a team.


  • Must provide link to a high-quality reel demonstrating videography and editing skills delivering lifestyle and commercial content.


  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.


  • Valid driver's license and good driving record required. In addition, proof of insurance and liability coverage may be required.
